Terengganu are a team looking to make a quick bounce back to the Super League after a horrendous 2016 season that saw them being relegated to the Premier League.

New head coach, Irfan Bakti oversaw the team defeat MPKB-BRI FC 5-0 in a friendly match played on Wednesday and the former Felda United coach is happy with the progress that his team is making.

"While we won with a big scoreline, it's the performance and high desire shown by the players throughout the match that I'm more pleased with. We are on the right track to be ready for the first match when the Premier League starts in two weeks' time," said the experienced Irfan.

There's no doubting that the Turtles are one of the favourites to clinch one of the promotion spots from the Premier League, something which teams in the same division are acutely aware of as well.

Having managed to retained Issey Nakajima-Farran while adding the likes of Asrol Ibrahim, Adib Aizuddin and Abdul Latiff Suhaimi to the fold - Terengganu possesses many seasoned professionals with more experience than most teams in the league.

Irfan have done the whole promotion process before with Felda and he will know exactly what is in store for his team in the upcoming season an in particular with the departures of senior figures such as Ashari Samsudin, Nosharul Idlan Talaha and Gustavo Lopez.

Terengganu will continue their preparations with a friendly match against Super League side, Kedah on the 9th of January 2017. The match is expected to take place in Bangi, Selangor.
