Defending MSL champions, JDT have announced that veteran striker, Safee Sali will leave the Southern Tigers at the end of this year, and will join MSL newcomers, PKNS FC for the 2017 season.
The former Selangor and Pelita Jaya player have won seven trophies with JDT, including three MSL titles and one AFC Cup trophy.
With this announcement, the 2010 AFF Cup topscorer has followed in the footsteps of several other players that have left JDT this season, including Amri Yahyah and Jaszarin Jamaluddin.
With Perak aiming for a top-three finish next season, they continue to ad strength to their squad. After boosting their forward lines with the arrival of Yashir Pinto, Vladislav Mirchev and midfielder Jaszarin Jamaluddin, they now have added Selangor duo, Hafiz Kamal and Shahrom Kalam to their squad.
Red Giants captain, Shahrom is a formidable figure at the heart of the Selangor defense, and his return to Perak will be a huge boost to the Bos Gaurus. Shahrom played for Perak in 2011-2013, before signing for Selangor in 2014.
The 2015 Malaysia Cup winner has also announced his departure in an Instagram post, saying: "This is one of the toughest decision I have to make in my career."
"I want thank all Selangor fans who have supported me for the past three seasons and I'm also proud to have been made as the captain of the team for the past two seasons. I also want to thank all the management team, coaches and all my teammates who have helped me," added Shahrom.
The Malaysia centre back's departure is believed to have been caused by the internal dispute-caused funding problem that the Selangor FA is currently facing. Reports have suggested that Selangor FA may not receive any fund from the state government for the 2017 season.
