With the new season of M-League approaching thick and fast, clubs are starting to move the chess pieces across the board to strengthen their teams for the upcoming season.
Champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) added Selangor’s midfield maestro, Nazmi Faiz to their ranks, but he reportedly will be loaned out to a Japanese football club, according to JDT’s owner, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
Super League newcomer, Melaka United are already in the process of strengthening the squad for their return to MSL next season, as they have confirmed nine new signings so far.
Melaka United, who impressively won the Premier League this season, recruited nine new players to face the challenge of MSL next year, including two new import players.
The two new foreign players are Spanish defender, Godwin Antwi, who previously played for DRB-Hicom FC, and also an Iranian midfielder, Omid Nazari from Philippine club Global FC.
They also recruited three more midfielders, which are Fauzi Roslan (Pahang), Syed Sobri Syed (Sime Darby FC) and Khairul Azrin (PKNS FC).
On top of that, the MPL champions also strengthen other departments of the field by bringing in defenders Akmal Zahir (Sime Darby FC) and Faizal Muhamad (PDRM), as well as T-Team’s forward Izzaq Faris and JDT II’s striker Akmal Ishak.
T-Team, who finished 7th in the league last season, added three more players as they bid to have a more consistent performance next year, by bringing in defender Shakir Zufayri Ibrahim and midfielder Muhamad Azrean from their big brother, Terengganu while they also signed Mohd Suhaimi Husin from local club Hanelang FC.
