2015 AFC Cup champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) are going to build the JDT Sports City, a state-of-the-art sports complex, the club announced over the weekend.

The complex will house a new stadium, a sports complex and other facilities such as a hotel, apartments and a shopping mall, all under the JDT brand.

The 70-acre land for the complex, rumoured to be in the currently in-development Nusajaya area, has been given by the Johor state government, whereas the funds have been granted by the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the father of JDT owner Tunku Ismail Ibrahim (TMJ).

In a post on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page post today, TMJ revealed that the new stadium can be built in one year and a half by the construction firm, and the ground breaking ceremony will be held this 30 January.

"Praise be to Allah, JDT are now in our own class and I am very thankful for all the bounty given to us," ended TMJ in the post.
