PKNS striker Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh was happy that he managed to score and help the Malaysia XI to secure an impressive 1-1 draw against English Premier League side Liverpool.
Despite being the last player being called up by head coach Dollah Salleh, Ronaldinho said the feeling after he scored against Liverpool, as well as going up against players such as Martin Skrtel, was a dream come true for the striker.
Quoting from Utusan, Ronaldinho said “I was very satisfied with my performance against Liverpool because I scored a goal and constantly put Liverpool under pressure.
“I have to be honest, I didn’t think I could ever score against them because they have Martin Skrtel at their disposal and he is one of the best in the world. Any striker would be afraid to face him as he is used to guarding players such as Wayne Rooney and Drogba.”
Patrick added that the goal he scored lifted him up and gave him a confidence-boost to keep playing well that night against The Reds.
He also said that after the game, he can’t wait to resume his duty with PKNS in the Premier League and continue his fine form with his club.
Ronaldinho scored early in the game to give Malaysia XI a shocking lead in the friendly match, but his goal was canceled out by Liverpool’s Jordan Ibe, who equalised for the visitors in the 27th minute.
Liverpool’s trip to Malaysia was part of their pre-season tour, as the 18-time English league champions get ready for the 2015/16 season.
