The Pahang government has announced that the players and staff involved in Pahang's FA Cup success will receive RM20,000 each as their reward.
The state’s secretary, Datuk Seri Muhammad Safian, announced that a total of RM600,000 has been allocated for winning the trophy after Pahang beat Felda United to bring the FA Cup to Pahang.
According to Utusan, Safain said “The RM600,000 that is being allocated will be given to 30 receivers and we will give it latest by next Wednesday. We will give it to the Pahang Football Association (PBNP) and they will give it to each person equally.”
However, Safian stated that the PBNP has not yet decided the rewards that will be given to the players from their side.
“We will have a meeting first before we make a decision on that matter,” said Safian, who is also a Vice President of the PBNP.
Meanwhile, the head coach of Pahang, Zainal Abidin Hassan, has expressed his gratitude to the Pahang government for giving such a reward.
“Thank you to the Chief Minister because (he is) always supporting us and this reward is very meaningful to us,” said Zainal.
Pahang scored twice in the last 10 minutes to beat Felda United in the FA Cup final last Saturday, which added to their trophy collection after winning the Malaysia Cup trophy eight months ago.
