Kelantan’s fortunes has turned from bad to worse, as the local tournament committee has decided to give Terengganu a 3-0 win, and deduct a point from the Red Warriors after they were found guilty of playing a suspended player.
During the game, Kelantan fielded Fitri Omar and the Football Association of Malaysia have stated that they will not get any points from the game, despite the fixture originally ending in a 1-1 draw.
According to the Vice Chairman of the JKPT, Datuk Osman Salleh, the decision was made based on the facts and the records that they have in terms of the player’s status.
Speaking to Utusan, Osman said “I want to point out here that ever team must check the status of the players before they play to avoid this type of incident to happen.”
Meanwhile Datuk Afandi has revealed that the FA Cup clash between Kelantan and Felda United will be played on the 6th of May for the first leg in Shah Alam, and 30th May in Kota Bharu.
Kelantan are aiming to retain the trophy they won last year and if they win they will face either Johor Darul Ta’zim or Pahang in the final stage, which will be played at National Stadium Bukit Jalil on the 7th of June.
Kelantan have been in poor form lately, as they failed to pick up maximum points in their last few matches and also got kicked out of the AFC Cup. They have made several signings during the transfer window to help the team regain back their confidence.
