Following the abandonment of the FA Cup 2nd Round match between Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) and T-Team F.C. that was played on the 1st of February 2014, Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has awarded the JDT a 3-0 win. The match only lasted 45 minutes with JDT leading 2-1 at half time, when T-Team decided not to reappear in the 2nd half due to alleged altercations in the tunnel as the players left the field.
Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said that the Jawatankuasa Pertandingan Tempatan (JKPT) held a special meeting to discuss on this matter and took into account reports from both teams, the referee and the match commissioner before making a decision on the outcome. The latter two have deemed that the match was able to continue but T-Team management did not share the same sentiment.
As for the decision on the alleged altercations in the tunnel, there will be a follow-up investigation to be done. Should it be decided that there’s a case to be pursued, the matter will be brought to the deliberation of the Disciplinary Board.
With this decision, JDT moves into the quarter final of the FA Cup that will be played on 11th and 18th February. The next opponent for JDT is the Premier League side, Kedah.
