Azraai Khor Abdullah has officially resigned as the head coach of Perak on mutual understanding, with him announcing the decision earlier today.
In a statement posted on his Facebook profile, Azraai confirmed that he will be ending his tenure with the Seladangs, after discussions with Perak FA (PAFA) Vice President, Khairul Azwan.
This news comes as a shock for Perak fans, though there have been signs leading towards this conclusion over the past few months. The disappointing end to their Malaysia Cup campaign, led to a temporary suspension of all the players and staff, including Azraai Khor, on corruption suspicions.
Despite everyone being proven innocent after thorough investigation, rumours were speculating that Azraai was already considering calling time on his stint in Ipoh. There were also reports of unrest within the squad, especially on the relationship between Rafael Souza and Azraai Khor
Now that the decision has been confirmed, PAFA will undoubtedly begin their hunt for a new head coach. It remains to be seen whether they will opt for a foreign coach, or stick to local ones but regardless, the expectation is already high among the Seladang faithful
