Selangor's Francis Forkey Doe wants to fire on all cylinders

The Liberian forward emerged as the top scorer last season after netting 15 goals with Terengganu, but believes that he can do better with Selangor in 2013
Francis Forkey Doe is determined to continue making an impact in the Malaysian Super League, as the new season edged closer towards its kick off. Forkey Doe plied his trade with Terengganu FA last year, but has since moved to Selangor FA for the 2013 season.

He netted 15 goals to grab the Golden Boot award for being the Malaysian League Top Scorer but Forkey Doe is keen on doing it all again.

I want to score in every match. It could be more than one goal in every game...I don't really care as long I score," he told the New Straits Times.

"I am not setting a specific target as I do not want to add unnecessary pressure to myself. It is going to be an exciting season."

The 27 year-old striker has impressed during the pre-season friendlies, scoring 11 goals in five matches thus far. However, there are concerns over his fitness levels, something that Forkey Doe is looking to improve before the new season.

"On the scale of one to 10, my fitness is about six or seven. I am working hard to regain my fitness. I need to work harder to form a good chemistry especially with my new partner in attack."

The battle for the 2013 M-League Golden Boot will certainly be an interesting one, with former La Liga Top Scorer Dani Guiza, Safee Sali and even Jean Emmanuel Effa Owona all looking to aid their respective teams by going on a goalscoring streak.
