Selangor left-back attracting interest from European clubs

International Asraruddin Putra Omar could be the next Malaysian player heading to Europe after Nazmi Faiz Mansor

Malaysia and Selangor left-back Asraruddin Putra Omar could follow Nazmi Faiz Mansor’s example by playing in Europe after it was revealed that two Iberian clubs are looking to sign him.

The Kuala Selangor born Asraruddin, is reportedly attracting attention from Santander based Spanish Division Five club Internacional FC and Portuguese Segunda Liga (Division Two) club OS Belenenses.

Both the clubs have officially expressed their interest in getting Asraruddin’s services and have contacted his current employers Selangor.

According to the Chief Operating Officer of Urban Bash Sport Management, Firdaus Faliq, negotiations with Asraruddin are still at an early stage.

Firdaus told Utusan Malaysia: "Internacional FC have officially expressed their interest by sending a letter to the Secretary-General of the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), Datuk Hamidin Amin.”

Besides Internacional FC, another club that is interested in the left-back is OS Belenenses, but no formal offer has been made to date.

The 24-year-old Asraruddin has previous experience of trying-out in Europe when he attended a one-week trial with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in 2007.
