Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) head coach Mario Gomez has praised club owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim's vision and achievements, and expects greater things to come from the Johor crown prince.
On Friday, the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page quoted the Argentine as comparing the Southern Tigers' achievements to those of renowned European sides.
"I have been privileged to have worked with top clubs in Europe such as Valencia and Inter Milan.
"Being in Johor Darul Ta'zim, I realised that JDT has something rather unique that not many of the European clubs have. The team's performance and achievements has risen concurrently with the development of infrastructure," explained Gomez.
According to him, all this happened due to Tunku Ismail's vision, and JDT will achieve greater things under him.
"Being involved in football for over 40 years, I have met countless people but only HRH TMJ (Tunku Ismail's moniker) has the gift of turning a vision into a reality.
"To see him accomplish all this at a relatively young age, he has a long way to go and this makes me happy as I know he has more in store for JDT's progress," assures the coach.
The very next day, the page announced the birth of Tunku Ismail's first child, a princess, with his wife Che Puan Khaleeda Bustamam. According to the announcement, the crown princess and their child are both doing well, recovering at the royal ward of the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru. No announcement has been made regarding the name of the newly-born.
The arrival of the child was congratulated by several JDT players. Team captain Safiq Rahim congratulated his boss; "Congratulations to HRH Crown Prince of Johor and HH Che Puan Khaleeda on the birth of their princess. May her arrival fill the royal family with abundant happiness."
