Bayern are through to the round of 16 after that win, as Barcelona and Inter drew 3-3 in the other group game. Their attention now turns back to the Bundesliga, where they face Freiburg on Sunday. Plzen stay bottom of the group with no points, and they have Jablonec in the league next time out.
Bayern see out a 4-2 win over Viktoria Plzen. The visitors were cruising at half-time with a 4-0 lead - Mane dinked it over Stanek to open the scoring and Muller followed it up with a tap-in four minutes later. Goretzka's brace rounded off the scoring with two well-taken finishes. Bayern didn't have the same urgency about them in the second half though and that let Plzen back in. Vlkanova rifled the first into the bottom corner before Kliment pulled another one back on the turn.
90' Sabitzer clips Kalvach's heels before pushing him to ground, and it earns him a yellow card.
89' Stanisic is tripped by Holik and he wins a free-kick in a good position down the left. Kimmich swings a deep cross into the far post, but it's met by Hejda, who clears his lines.
87' Another sloppy pass in midfield almost catches Bayern out, with Bucha hooking it forward for Kliment to chase. Wanner is alert to the danger though and gets across to intercept it.
85' Kalvach nicks it in front of Gravenberch before helping it onto Pilar just inside the box. He doesn't realise that he has time, so he rushes his shot, slicing it well wide of the far post.
83' Another jolt of excitement goes around the stadium as Pavard loses the ball inside him own box and Mosquera pounces onto it. He whips a dangerous cross into the six-yard box, but Wanner blocks it.

60' Again, Upamecano isn't alert to the danger and he's beaten to it by Kliment on the edge of his own box. He lays it off to Jirka and Kimmich has to slide in to prevent the cross.
58' CLOSE! Pernica's cross is casually nodded down by Upamecano to Pavard, not realising that Jirka is right behind him. The substitute latches onto it and hits his shot on the half-turn from the left of the box, but can only pick out the side netting.

54' Mazraoui slides in needlessly on Pernica, and Plzen take the free-kick quickly. Mosquera bursts forward down the left before trying to slide it into Kliment, but he can't get in front of Pavard to bring it under control.
52' GREAT CHANCE! Kimmich's flick starts the move with Sane playing a brilliant throughball out to Tel on the right. He has the chance to go for goal, but unselfishly squares it across the box and Choupo-Moting can only poke it over the bar.
50' Mazraoui slides it forward, with Choupo-Moting and Sane both flicking it on to Goretzka on the edge of the box. Stanek slides in to touch the ball away from him and Goretzka goes down just after, but he's only won a corner.
48' There are shouts for a penalty from the home fans after Kliment goes to ground in the box. A heavy touch got away from him though, so he initiated the contact with Upamecano, and the referee tells him to get up.

The only negative to come out of the first half for Bayern is the loss of Muller to injury, with so many of the squad already missing, but Nagelsmann will be looking for more of the same. Plzen had a couple of brights moments, but they weren't able to make their chances count.
Bayern are in total control with a 4-0 half-time lead over Plzen. It took the visitors just 10 minutes to break the deadlock with Mane dinking a lovely shot over Stanek before Muller added a second just four minutes later with a tap-in. Goretzka got the other two - his first curled past the keeper into the far side of the net while he coolly slotted in the other shortly after.
45' + 2' There's a nervy moment at the back for Ulreich as he plays it blindly across his box. Pavard is there but doesn't realise Mosquera is behind him and he just clears his lines in time.
45' Stanisic overruns it out of play and Stanek takes the goal-kick quickly to catch out Bayern. Jirka goes long for Mosquera in the left of the box, but he rushes the shot as he lifts it high and wide of the far post.
43' SAVE! Bayern are passing it through Plzen with ease at the moment and Mane plays the reverse pass through for Tel. He's one-on-one with Stanek but drills his low shot straight at the keeper.
41' Mazraoui knocks it out of play after taking it past Kalvach, but he's allowed to clip a cross into the far post. Goretzka nods it back into the middle, but can only pick out Hejda.
39' There's a coming together off the ball between Mazraoui and Mosquera as the defender drags him back, but it's the Bayern man that isn't happy. The referee has to go across to split them up, and he sends Mazraoui away with a warning.
37' SAVE! The Plzen defenders flock to Mane on the edge of the D, but he quickly switches it out to Coman on the right. He takes a touch before firing an early shot towards the near post, but it's straight at Stanek.

32' Plzen just can't cope with the threat coming from Bayern's left side as Coman plays a clever one-two with Mane to get in behind. He gets the cross wrong this time though as he curls it straight into Stanek's gloves.
30' SAVE! That's a big chance for Plzen! It's a sloppy pass out from Ulreich to Goretzka and Vlkanova gets in front of him to tee up Mosquera. He tries to chip the keeper, but Ulreich makes himself big to smother it.

18' Chory caught Upamecano on the side of his head with his boot as they tumbled to the ground, and the defender is receiving treatment. After going through the checks, he's okay to carry on.

2' CHANCE! Havel cuts out Kimmich's switch but is quickly dispossessed by Stanisic, who touches it onto Mane. He curls a good cross into the far post for Sane, who curls his shot towards the far post, but it's always swerving wide.

Julian Nagelsmann is forced into making six changes from the draw with Dortmund through injuries. Ulreich, Mazraoui, Stanisic, Kimmich, Muller and Coman are all brought in. Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Matthijs de Ligt and Serge Gnabry are all missing through injury, while Jamal Musiala is out after testing positive for COVID-19. Sabitzer starts on a depleted bench of just six substitutes.

Bayern could secure their place in the knockout stages with a victory today, but only if Barcelona drop points in their match with Inter, though even if Barca win, three points here would pretty much see Bayern through to the round of 16. They've won all three of their games without conceding, a big contrast to their league form which saw them squander a 2-0 lead to draw with Borussia Dortmund at the weekend. Plzen currently prop up the table with no points so far and just one goal scored. They're still unbeaten in the league this season and will be hoping to pull off a huge shock to stay in contention for at least a Europa League spot in a tough group.
