FULL TIME - KASHIMA ANTLERS 2 SYDNEY FC 0 - Kashima prove too strong for Sydney FC tonight winning 2 goals to nil. Goals for Doi and Ueda did the job for the Japanese side who condemned Sydney to their 2nd home loss of the competition and the Australian side find themselves now at the bottom of the group. Kashima were well worth their win and head into the reverse fixture in Japan next week with confidence. Sydney will have to do much better to trouble thier opposition next week. 
90' + 1' Kashima almost have a third with Silva intercepting a pass and then he gets into the area and forces a save from Redmayne 
90' + 1' Kalik makes his way into the area and cuts the ball back but there's no one there and the Kashima side can easily clear it away

87' GOAL KASHIMA! KASHIMA 2 SYDNEY FC 0 - Kashima will be taking the 3 points home tonight as they score from another corner. A flick on from the near post by Yamamoto falls into the path of Ueda who had the simple task of heading the ball into the empty net. That's game over.

HALF TIME - KASHIMA ANTLERS 1 SYDNEY FC 0 - Doi's goal in the 40th minute gives the visitors the lead as the teams head to the sheds. Kashima got the goal they deserved as they had more shots in that half. Sydney have been flat but have showed promise at times but nothing yet that has seriously challenged the Kashima defence. They will need to do better in the 2nd half to get back into this game.

40' GOAL KASHIMA! KASHIMA 1 SYDNEY 0 - The corner is used well by Kashima as the deep corner goes out the back to Suzuki who drives a shot towards goal but it was Doi with the final touch as he backheels past Redmayne to open the scoring 
37' Simon is flagged offside as he came back from the offside position to get involved in a promising Sydney attack
