Commentary

That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until the next one, goodbye!
Shakhtar impressed greatly and topped the group following their 4-1 win over Leipzig, and draw means they stay at the top on five points with Real Madrid yet to play. Celtic's point gets them on the board, but they'll rue their missed chances that prevented that point from being three.
Jota could've had two contenders for goal of the season in the second half - if he'd managed to score them. However, he still had one hell of a game, finishing with four key passes, two shots on target from five attempts, and managed four crosses from open play. He engaged in 16 duels, winning eight of nine dribbles, and had seven touches in the Shakhtar box. Enigma.
Full time, and despite the points being shared, Celtic will feel that it's two dropped after squandering a plethora of chances in that second half! Maeda, Giakoumakis and Jota (twice) went oh so close, but the Bhoys couldn't keep their composure to find that elusive winner!! Shakhtar were lucky to hold on for a draw, but defended well enough to be happy with the point they've gained, despite being cleary second-best throughout the second half.
90' + 7' FULL-TIME: SHAKHTAR DONETSK 1-1 CELTIC.
90' + 6' CHANCE!!! Mooy floats a cross from deep into the box, but Trubin misses the ball completely, and it nearly rolls in after hitting Giakoumakis but Bondar recovers it off the line!
90' + 5' CHANCE!!! Petryak steps inside from the right and chips the ball over the Celtic backline. Mudryk chases hard to keep the ball in play, but the ball bounces behind before he can hook it back to Traore!
90' + 4' Stepanenko's still receiving treatment, but luckily for Celtic the referee appears to have confirmed that some additional injury time will be played.
90' + 2' As Shakhtar keep the ball under little pressure on halfway, their captain Stepanenko goes down with cramp and play comes to a halt.
90' We'll play five minutes of added time, and this game is far from over yet!
89' WIDE!!!! Another chance that Celtic should bury!!! Juranovic chests down a high ball and cuts inside before crossing. Maeda slides in at the far post, but can't wrap his foot around the ball and he puts it wide!!!
88' Abada races down the right to latch onto Juranovic's ball up the line, but his cross to the edge of the box finds only Stepanenko!
L. Abada
Jota
Celtic
86' Jota's had two unsuccessful, but glorious attempts to score, but he comes off now for Liel Abada to play the last few minutes.
85' WIDE!!! Greg Taylor is found in space by McGregor, and in turn finds Giakoumakis, who takes a touch on the penalty spot but sends his effort wide of the post!! That really should've been the winner!
84' Jenz loses out to Ocheretko, who races away down the right. He looks to find options in the box, but Jenz gets back to deflect his cross away from goal!
82' Giakoumakis' throughball looks for the run of Maeda, but Trubin races out of his goal to slide in and clear the ball as the Celtic striker approaches the box!
81' CHANCE!!! Greg Taylor hangs a cross towards the back post, and Giakoumakis heads it back across goal. Maeda attempts an acrobatic finish, but mis-hits the ball and it rolls well wide!
79' Mudryk's free-kick flies towards the back post, but both Hart and Greg Taylor leave the bouncing ball, and Bondar is almost able to capitalise!
O. Ocheretko
H. Sudakov
Shakhtar Donetsk
78' That injury means Sudakov will play no further part in this match, and Oleh Ocheretko will replace him.
76' Mooy clips the heels of Sudakov and brings him down, and the Shakhtar midfielder is still receiving treatment, allowing the other 21 players a much-deserved break.
N. Đurasek
A. Bondarenko
Shakhtar Donetsk
74' Bondarenko's not exactly had a game to remember, with constant hassle and pressure in midfield topping off his early own goal. He comes off now though, and Neven Durasek will replace him.
73' WHAT A CHANCE!!! Bodnarenko is dispossessed by Jota on the edge of his own box, and the Celtic winger skips past three challenges before finally shooting, but by then Bondar has gotten across to block it behind for a corner!!
72' Stepanenko looks to pick out Konoplia on the run into the box, but he's prevented from going further by Carter-Vickers and eventually concedes a free-kick which allows Celtic some breathing room.
70' OVER!!! Jota finds Turnbull centrally, and the substitute looks to pick out the top corner, but can't keep his effort down as it sails just over the bar!
70' Giakoumakis is still looking to score his first goal in major European competition, having featured 12 times between his spells at AEK Athens and Celtic without scoring (six games in the UEFA Europa League, four in the UEFA Champions League and two in the UEFA Conference League).
A. Mooy
M. O'Riley
Celtic
68' O'Riley is also withdrawn, and Aaron Mooy will come on to play at the base of the midfield three.
G. Giakoumakis
K. Furuhashi
Celtic
68' Furuhashi also comes off, and is replaced up front by Georgios Giakoumakis for Celtic.
D. Turnbull
R. Hatate
Celtic
68' Hatate's superb run and cross provided Celtic's goal, but he comes off now for David Turnbull as the Hoops look to up the ante and find a winner.
67' Hatate links up with his countryman Furuhashi, who in turn attempts to find O'Riley outside him, but a block by Bondar puts the ball out over the touchline.
65' Cetic come back and Juranovic finds Maeda in the box. He tees up O'Riley to shoot again, but he can only put this one wide of the target!
64' SAVED!!! McGregor wins a 50-50 in midfield and O'Riley picks up the ball. He smashes a low shot towards the bottom corner from 25 yards, but Trubin gets down to parry it away!!
63' As well as his equaliser in this game, Mudryk was one of three players to be directly involved in three goals on MD1 (one goal, two assists), along with Robert Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski. Aged 21 years and 244 days, Mudryk was the youngest Shakhtar player to be directly involved in as many goals in a Champions League game since Douglas Costa in September 2010.
L. Traoré
O. Zubkov
Shakhtar Donetsk
61' Zubkov also comes off, and is replaced up front by Burkinabe international Lassina Traore.
I. Petryak
M. Shved
Shakhtar Donetsk
60' Shakhtar make their first changes, with Shved withdrawn first for Ivan Petryak.
60' A wide kick to the left wing from Trubin is cut out by Maeda, but he can't get the ball under control before Konoplia wins possession back!
58' Hatate is dispossessed by Shved, and Lucas Taylor surges up the right with the ball. Jenz races across to tackle him, and the ball spills towards the goal-line but is stopped by Hart!
56' BLOCKED!!! What a goal that would've been!!! Zubkov's pass wide to Shved is intercepted by Greg Taylor, who finds Jota. He sets off on a mazy run towards goal, beating challenges aplenty with ease before having a shot from 8 yards blocked behind by Konoplia!
54' WIDE!!! Greg Taylor finds Jota on the left touchline, and he crosses early to the edge of the box. It bounces ahead of O'Riley, whose flying volley skews just wide of the target!
M. Jenz
Yellow Card
Celtic
52' Zubkov turns Jenz and gets around the centre-back, but is soon dragged to ground and Jenz receives a deserved yellow card.
51' WIDE!!! Good play from Shakhtar as Mudryk plays a clever one-two with Zubkov. He gets the ball back and tees up Bodnarenko, but a well-timed challenge from Hatate forces him to mis-control the ball and put it behind for a goal kick!
49' BLOCKED!!! A cross into the box is glanced on by O'Riley's header, but it's cleared as far as Greg Taylor. He tees up Jota to shoot, but his low effort is blocked and the hosts set off on the counter!!
48' Bodnarenko attempts to find Zubkov after spotting his run into the box, but the pass is just a fraction behind the Shakhtar forward and Carter-Vickers steps in to clear.
46' SAVED!!! Jota cuts inside Lucas Tayor before curling a shot towards goal, but Trubin can only spill it before Matvyenko scythes it clear!
46' Celtic kick off the second half, and we're back underway in this game!
D. Maeda
S. Hakšabanović
Celtic
46' Haksabanovic's first Celtic start comes to an end, as he's replaced by Daizen Maeda at half-time.
The teams are back out for the second half, which is set to be another 45 minutes of cracking football!
Jenz has impressed at both ends for Celtic so far, drawing an impressive save Trubin after shooting in the box, and also having more touches and passes than anyone else on the pitch, maintaining a 98 per cent accuracy with the latter. At the back, he's won two thirds of his duels, including one in the air, and has also made two interceptions as well as a tackle. Celt.
The first half ends, and it's been a tale of two halves in the first 45 alone!! Celtic started like a team possessed, attacking Shakhtar relentlessly with and without the ball, and scored after just 10 minutes!! However, a fantastic breakaway goal from Mudryk saw the hosts equalise, and after this Shakhtar really came back into the game, to the point at which we are level pegging at half-time!
45' + 1' O'Riley's ball towards the six-yard box causes a mix-up between Bondar and Trubin, and the ball skews up into the air before being cleared!!
45' We'll play one minute of added time to close out the first half.
43' BLOCKED!!! Jota cuts inside Mudryk down the left and shoots from 20 yards, but a small nick takes some of the pace off the shot and it rolls straight into Trubin's arms!
41' Hart has only kept one clean sheet in his last 13 away games in the Champions League, and Mudryk's equaliser denied him his first on the road in the competition since December 2014 versus Roma (for Man City).
39' Mudryk's corner is swung in, and is met by Konoplia at the near post, but he can only glance it wide, with a goal kick being given, despite the last touch coming off Hatate!
38' SAVED!!! Shved heads down the right before cutting inside Greg Taylor and shooting. It's a dipping, awkward shot for Hart to save, but he pushes it behind with his right hand and Shakhtar get the corner!
36' Following their win against RB Leipzig, Shakhtar will be looking to open their Champions League campaign with two successive victories. This has only happened before in 2010-11 and 2007-08, when, one of their two victories that season came against Celtic, beating them 2-0 in a home game.
34' SAVED!!! Zubkov's effort from the edge of the box is deflected into the path of Konoplia, whose ball across the face of goal is smothered by a diving Hart!
33' BALL IN THE NET!!! Konoplia sends Mudryk on another run down the byline, and he cuts it back to Shved. After mis-hitting his initial effort, he regains his composure to put the ball in the bottom corner, but the goal won't count as Mudryk's cut-back came from behind the line!
31' McGregor looks to turn Sudakov but is felled by the Shakhtar midfielder, and wins a free-kick on halfway.
H. Sudakov
Assist
Shakhtar Donetsk
29' That was some pass from Sudakov, but an even better run from Mudryk, who had no right to beat the entire Celtic defence to that ball into space!
M. Mudryk
Goal
Shakhtar Donetsk
29' GOOOOAAAALLLLL!!! There's the equaliser and what a goal it is!!!! Sudakov picks the ball up in midfield and plays an optimistic throughball forward, but Mudryk is steaming onto it behind Juranovic and blasts the ball beyond Hart's reach!!! 1-1 in Warsaw, and what a reaction from Shakhtar!
28' SAVED!!! O'Riley's free-kick into the box is headed on by Jenz, who gets the ball back and lashes a shot from the edge of the six-yard box, which is saved by the right leg of Trubin!
27' Shakhtar win a free-kick and Mudryk swings it in from the left, but it's a poor delivery that is easily headed away by Furuhashi on the edge of the box.
25' Good play between McGregor and Hatate almost creates shooting space for the leaders, but it's cut out by Bondar to keep Celtic at bay.
23' Shakhtar are finally starting to put some assertion on this game, having more of the ball than in the first 15 minutes, but yet being unable to test Hart in the Hoops' goal.
21' Celtic break as Haksabanovic races down the left. He has Furuhashi screaming for it in the box, but his outside-of-the-foot cross towards the forward is held by Trubin!
20' Celtic have lost both of their previous away games against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, failing to score on both occasions in October 2004 and September 2007. They've already broken the deadlock in this one though, and that record may well vanish within the next 70 minutes!
18' Shved cuts inside from the right and goes down under pressure in the box from Greg Taylor, but the referee waves away any penalty appeals against the former Celtic striker!
16' CHANCE!!! Matvyenko passes back to Trubin, who has Furuhashi bearing down on him, and he only just manages to get the ball away before the Celtic striker slides in!
14' Celtic have absolutely flown out of the blocks in this one, and Shakhtar can hardly compute their play at the moment. The ball's only crossed into Celtic territory twice of note, and one of those sparked the opening goal for the Hoops!
12' This is Celtic’s first away game in the Champions League since November 2017, when they suffered a 7-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain under Brendan Rodgers. The Bhoys have only kept one clean sheet in 33 away games in the competition, but have scored first at the other end in this one!
A. Bondarenko
Own Goal
Shakhtar Donetsk
10' GOOOAAALLLL!!!! Celtic take the lead!!!! After Juranovic steps in to intercept a Shakhtar counter-attack, he hoofs it wide to Haksabanovic. He finds Hatate running ahead of him, and the latter's threatening cross deflects off Bondarenko and rolls across the goal line!!! 1-0 to the visitors, and it's a goal that's certainly been coming!
9' Hatate finds Haksabanovic out wide, but he's brought to ground by Konoplia, and Celtic gain a free-kick in a good crossing position.
7' This will be the fifth time Shakhtar and Celtic have faced each other in the group stage of a Champions League campaign, after meeting in both 2004-05 (one win each) and 2007-08 (one win each).
5' Jota skilfully beats Lucas Taylor down the left before crossing, and O'Riley gets his head to it, but can only find the gloves of Trubin with his effort on goal!
4' WIDE!!! Great play from Celtic as Haksabanovic cuts inside to find Greg Taylor. He blasts the ball across goal, but Furuhashi can't latch onto the cross and it goes wide!
2' SAVED!!! A loose touch from Stepanenko gives O'Riley the chance to put Furuhashi through on goal, and his low first-time shot is deflected wide off the legs of Trubin!
1' The hosts kick us off, and we're underway in Warsaw!
The teams are out on the pitch, and we're almost ready to go here!
Celtic's 3-0 loss to Madrid saw them underwhelm at home, but they'll hope to respond accordingly here, with Sead Haksabanovic handed his first start for the Bhoys on the right wing.
Marian Shved starts up front for the Kroty having scored their first two goals against Leipzig, and is flanked by fellow scorer Mykahilo Mudryk, as well as Oleksandr Zubkov.

The hosts started their group stage campaign in the best possible way, smashing RB Leipzig 4-1 in East Germany with Marian Shved scoring a brace, including a goal less than a minute after Leipzig equalised.
