Both teams started the game with a good tempo and looked strong when attacking. Club Brugge broke the deadlock after Jutgla scored from the penalty spot. The Spaniard won the spot kick himself after he drew a foul from Joao Mario in the box. He placed his shot past Costa and into the bottom right corner. The visitors then took the game away from Porto early in the second half. Sowah was quicker to the ball than Zaidu and finished past Costa before Skov Olsen did the same following a cross from Meijer. 17-year-old Nusa then scored on his Champions League debut to make it 4-0 in the 89th minute to close the game.

Although Club Brugge started the game well, they have been poor when attacking since taking the lead. Porto have had more of the ball in the game but are struggling to make use of it, with many attacks ending with overhit passes or crosses straight into the hands of Mignolet. It is still very much all to play for in this game with both teams showing what they are capable of.
