Commentary

That's all for now though, goodbye!
Morata will be delighted to get on the scoresheet with his late penalty, won by Marley, who looked incredibly threatening in his brief cameo. As for Sampdoria, they played exactly like a side unable to stop the rot, and will need to get a new manager in rapidly to shore up their defence if they want to turn their fortunes around this season.
It's a comfortable win for Juventus in the end, as they progress to the quarter-finals. Cuadrado and Rabiot gave Sampdoria too many troubles in defence, and they were powerless to stop wave after wave of Juventus attack. The visitors had a glimmer of hope when they pulled it back to 2-1 with Conti's well-struck volley, but a huge error in goal from Falcone gave Dybala the easiest of opportunities to seal the game for the hosts.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: JUVENTUS 4-1 SAMPDORIA
90' + 2' Rabiot bursts down the left touchline, then turns and slowly rolls the ball back down the line to Sandro. Juventus pass the ball all the way back to Perin in goal, as they build again.
90' Juventus are knocking the ball confidently around in defence now, as we approach the end of the 90 minutes. There are three additional minutes to be played here.
R. Vieira Nan
Yellow Card
Sampdoria
88' The referee has his yellow card straight out as Vieira clatters into Locatelli as he tried to control the bouncing ball. He can have no complaints there.
87' Marley races infield with the ball, and slips it into Dybala. He tries to shift it on to Rabiot to his left, but his pass is loose and Samp escape for now.
T. Rincón
Yellow Card
Sampdoria
85' Marley spins past his man on the right with a lovely bit of skill, and Rincon cynically trips him up. The midfielder is rightly put into the book for his efforts.
R. Ciervo
F. Caputo
Sampdoria
85' Caputo trots off the field, and is replaced by Ciervo.
84' Chance! It should be five! Rabiot collects possession, and races down the left towards goal. He does well to hold off a couple of defenders, and cracks a shot against the outside of the post from a difficult angle. The visitors are all at sea in defence!
82' Chance! Dybala picks up the ball inside the area, cleverly pokes the ball past his man and smacks a shot at the keeper from a tight angle. Falcone does well to parry it behind!
R. Drăgușin
T. Augello
Sampdoria
81' Augello makes way for Dragusin.
81' Juventus are flying here, and don't look like letting up in their search for more goals!
Kaio Jorge
Álvaro Morata
Juventus
79' That's Morata's last act on the field, as Jorge comes on to replace him.
Alex Sandro
Yellow Card
Juventus
78' Sandro goes into the book for a late challenge on halfway.
Álvaro Morata
Penalty Goal
Juventus
77' GOAL! 4-1! Morata steps up and calmly dispatches the spot-kick into the bottom left corner of the goal. Falcone dived the right way but could do nothing about that!
76' Penalty to Juventus! Marley drives at Bereszynski on the right flank, and he has too much pace for him, nicking the ball ahead of him and hitting the deck! The referee has no choice!
M. Aké
J. Cuadrado
Juventus
75' Cuadrado makes way to loud applause, and is replaced by Marley.
R. Bentancur
Arthur
Juventus
75' Arthur also trots off the field as Bentancur comes on in his place.
74' Locatelli turns in the area and feeds Dybala from just outside the box, but he blazes his shot a mile over the crossbar!
74' Locatelli's attempted pass to Rugani is blocked, but it comes straight back to him in the area. He has an age to line up a shot, but in the end it's straight into the keeper's arms.
73' Chance! Sampdoria give the ball away and Cuadrado pounces, driving into the area on the right-hand side! His options to pass are blocked off, so he thumps an effort goalwards, and it's well saved this time from Falcone.
71' Sampdoria are still trying to play here. A nicely worked move ends with a ball over the top to Caputo, but he can't reach it, and is flagged for offside in any case.
69' Juventus are well in control here after that third goal, and the fans are singing their encouragement noisily.
M. Locatelli
Assist
Juventus
67' Locatelli led the press well there, but it's another howler from Falcone!
P. Dybala
Goal
Juventus
67' GOOALLL!!!! 3-1! What an impact! Sampdoria attempt to play out for the back, and it goes disastrously! Perin plays the ball straight to Locatelli, and Dybala pinches the loose ball and sweeps it into the far corner from inside the area!
A. Candreva
A. Conti
Sampdoria
64' That was Conti's last contribution! Candreva comes on in his place.
M. Gabbiadini
E. Torregrossa
Sampdoria
63' Former Southampton man Gabbiadini is also on for Torregrossa.
R. Vieira Nan
M. Thorsby
Sampdoria
63' Samp are making a few changes immediately here, as Vieira is on for Thorsby.
T. Augello
Assist
Sampdoria
63' It was a decent enough cross from Augello, but it's all about that hit from Conti!
A. Conti
Goal
Sampdoria
63' GOOOOALLLL!!! WHAT A STRIKE!!! And Samp are back in this! 2-1! Augello crosses from the right and Conti takes the ball down well with a great touch. He strikes the ball cleanly past the keeper's reach, in off the post into the far corner.
P. Dybala
D. Kulusevski
Juventus
62' Dybala is also on for Kulusevski in the attack.
G. Chiellini
Danilo
Juventus
62' Chiellini is coming on for Danilo here, as Allegri looks to freshen his side up.
59' The hosts have enjoyed 69 per cent of possession so far in this game, in a dominant display.
58' Arthur is just caught by his marker as he picks up a pass on the centre circle, and play is paused momentarily as he writhes around on the ground.
56' Rabiot picks up a loose pass on the right wing, and saunters into the area, before delivering a low cross goalwards. Morata is just on his heels though, and can't get onto it.
54' Morata races in behind on the left byline and beats a man, before firing a shot straight at the keeper from a narrow angle! It's well saved, and Juventus have another corner.
Arthur
Assist
Juventus
52' It was a delightfully weighted cross from Arthur, and Juventus are now looking very comfortable.
D. Rugani
Goal
Juventus
52' GOOALLL!!! 2-0!!! Juventus play a corner short, and Arthur delivers a perfect cross from deep into the six-yard box. Rugani rises above everyone else to nod it into the far corner from close range!
52' Rabiot surges into the box and finds De Sciglio on his right-hand side. He has an age to deliver a cross, but it's deflected behind for a corner.
51' Caputo turns towards goal and tries to drive at the Juventus defence, but Rabiot races back from midfield and eases him off the ball confidently. Caputo wants a foul but it's a fair challenge.
50' Conti picks up a pass in acres on the right flank, and has plenty of time to deliver a cross. He slices his effort however, and Perin collects the ball easily. Samp need to make more of opportunities like that!
49' Cuadrado delivers a free-kick from wide out on the right, and Rabiot risest highest to meet it in the area. His header just takes a deflection off an opponent though, and goes well wide of goal, behind for a corner.
47' Juventus press Falcone straight from the off, and he can only put the ball straight out for a throw-in to the opposition in response.
46' Juventus kick us off for the second half!
Juventus will hope to be able to wrap this game up soon after the break, but will have to rely on a bit more clinical finishing from their strikers! Morata in particular has been wasteful, and he would love a goal or two to restore some confidence.
It's a half that Juventus have unsurprisingly dominated then. They only lead by the one goal however, after Cuadrado's driven free-kick, which keeper Falcone really should have kept out. Morata could have made it 2-0 just before the break with a great chance, and also had one harshly ruled out by VAR. Sampdoria will need to show far more if they are to progress though, and have hardly been in this one so far!
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: JUVENTUS 1-0 SAMPDORIA
45' + 2' Chance! Arthur breaks clear with the ball, and feeds Kulusevski in acres on the right. He flashes a ball across goal and Morata hits his attempt straight at the keeper from eight yards out! He had to do better there!
45' + 1' Locatelli is penalised for what looked like an inch-perfect challenge on Caputo. The midfielder shows his frustration, as the hosts were about to launch a promising attack. There will be two additional minutes here.
44' Sampdoria have a rare chance to knock the ball around a little. Morata clatters into Bereszynski as he looks for a pass down the line, and gets a talking-to. It's a free-kick to the visitors inside their own half.
42' De Sciglio feeds Morata with a fizzed pass to feet, and he advances forward as it's three v three! His pass out wide to Cuadrado is over-hit however, and the attack loses all momentum.
40' What a chance! Rabiot swings in a ball from the left and Rugani stabs at it five yards from goal! He hits it goalwards but the keeper stretches a leg out to somehow keep the ball out! It stays at 1-0!
38' Sandro robs Bereszynski of possession right on the corner flag, and drives towards goal. He feeds Morata, who slows the move down with a clumsy touch, and the ball is hacked behind for a corner to Juventus.
36' Locatelli feeds Kulusevski with a short pass infield from the right, and he thumps an effort at goal from 25 yards out. The keeper comfortably holds his effort though.
34' Kulusevski escapes down the right-hand channel. He ducks inside then out, then delivers a low cross, but it's blocked behind for a corner.
32' Sandro clatters into Caputo on halfway, and it's a free-kick to the visitors. The Samp bench are livid with that challenge, but the referee takes no further action.
30' Torregrossa chases Locatelli all the way to the corner flag and slides in, winning a throw for his side in the process. Locatelli is adamant as he thinks the ball came off his opponent, and he may have a point.
28' The score stays at 1-0 then, and Morata will feel hard done by as his lovely finish is ruled out.
27' ANOTHER GOAL ... BUT IT'S DISALLOWED!!! Morata races away with the ball after Samp give away possession cheaply, and he plays a neat one-two with Cuadrado on the edge of the box. Morata collects the return pass in his stride, and arcs a beautiful finish in the top-left corner. The referee goes to VAR, however, for a foul in the build-up, and deems that De Sciglio fouled his opposite man in winning back possession. No goal! It's ruled out!
J. Cuadrado
Goal
Juventus
25' GOOOAALLLLL!!!! 1-0!!! Cuadrado lines up a free-kick right on the edge of the area. He strikes it low and hard, on the keeper's side, but it falls through his grasp and into the bottom right corner. In truth, that should have been saved.
25' Juventus try to work the ball neatly into the box, and Samp are penalised as Bereszynski collides with Morata on the edge of the area. The hosts have a dangerous looking free-kick here.
23' Half a chance for Sampdoria! Conti collects the ball on the right and cuts it back for Caputo 10 yards out from goal. His touch lets him down however, and he misses his chance to strike an effort goalwards.
21' Sandro drives towards goal and lays the ball to Morata on his left. He turns inside and tees up De Sciglio, who tries a speculative shot from 30 yards, but it's comfortably held by the goalkeeper.
19' Sampdoria thump the ball clear, and Caputo does well to put his body in front of the ball and Danilo, and wins an easy foul as he is dragged down.
17' It's attack versus defence at the moment. Juventus have a succession of corners that don't come to anything, but they have the visitors pinned back in their own half here.
15' Chance! There's some pinball in the Sampdoria penalty area following a short corner by Juventus. Locatelli then floats a great pass out left to Cuadrado as the ball drops to him. The wide-man takes one touch, shimmies inside onto his right foot and cracks a shot off at the near post, which the keeper does well to parry behind.
13' Morata presses well and wins back possession by the Sampdoria corner flag. The ball pops out to Kulusevski from a wide position outside the penalty area. He tries his luck, but it's deflected behind for a corner to Juventus.
11' Arthur sends a simple pass straight out of play on halfway, and the away side have a throw-in.
10' Sampdoria are penned in! Augello looks for options in the left-back position but there are none, and he gives away the ball cheaply. Cuadrado tries to capitalise on the right flank but over-hits his cross, and the visitors come away with the ball once more.
8' Juventus spray the ball around the Sampdoria half confidently, but Cuadrado overhits his pass infield and gives away possession. The move breaks down but Rugani collects the ball and starts another move for the hosts.
6' Juventus are dominating possession in these early stages, and are intent on finding Sandro out wide on the left. The away side are sitting deep and have been untroubled so far.
4' Caputo does extremely well to get a foot to a loose ball on halfway, ahead of Rugani, and wins a free-kick for his side as he's bundled to the ground.
2' It's a fast-paced start, and Torregrossa is tripped up cynically as he advances towards the goal on a counter-attack. Sampdoria have a free-kick 30 yards out from goal, in a central position.
1' It's Sampdoria who get us under way here!
The players are coming out onto the pitch, and we're about to get started here!
Juventus could be eliminated in the Coppa Italia’s last 16 for the first time since 2005. Since then, the Bianconeri have reached the quarter-finals in each of the following 15 seasons.
Temporary boss Felice Tufano also makes a raft of changes from Sampdoria’s last game, a 2-1 defeat to Torino. Caputo continues up top, and Torregrossa comes in to partner him. Askildsen also comes into midfield, as Gabbiadini and Candreva make way.
Max Allegri makes wholesale changes to the side that started the 2-0 win over Udinese, with only Cuadrado, Arthur and Rugani keeping their places. Morata and Kulusevski come in to replace Kean and Dybala up front.

Juventus begin their defence of the Coppa Italia after a rollercoaster start to the year. A stunning comeback to pip Roma 4-3 was followed by a last-gasp extra-time defeat to rivals Inter in the Supercoppa last week. By comparison, their last fixture was a relatively competent and uneventful 2-0 victory at home to Udinese. Sampdoria, on the other hand, come into this game in freefall. They have lost their last three on the bounce, which culminated in the sacking of manager Roberto D’Aversa on Monday. They’ll be up against it today, and the hosts will fancy their chances of progression here.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of this Coppa Italia round of 16 match between Juventus and Sampdoria at the Allianz Stadium.
