8th Finals
UEFA Europa League

The contrast in moods will be rather large, one suspects, after that game. For Inter, they can take that winning feeling back to Serie A for a trip to Sampdoria this weekend. As for Tottenham, they head to Brighton knowing that only a victory will be acceptable. Until then however, thank you - and have a good week!
What a final 10 minutes at San Siro. Inter looked set to record consecutive losses after defeat in Serie A; instead, they secure the full three points with a brilliant comeback and consign Tottenham to three straight losses for the first time under Mauricio Pochettino. Football, eh? Full-time, it finishes Inter 2-1 Tottenham.
S. de Vrij
90' + 2' Mauricio Pochettino cuts a stoic figure on the touchline. His side have thrown away what could have been the victory to kick-start their season in sensational fashion. De Vrij gets the assist and rightfully so - a fine header to set up the goal.
M. Vecino
90' + 2' VECINO WITH THE HEADER! 2-1 TO INTER! It's the most remarkable of turnarounds in fortunes at San Siro; Inter look like they have snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat! The corner from the right finds De Vrij who heads back across towards the right post; Vecino pops up and plants his header on the angle in at the left side past Vorm. Celebration for the hosts; despair for Tottenham.
90' + 2' Sanchez concedes a corner as he intercepts a cross and perilously tips it over his own net. The set-piece swung in causes chaos, pinging off every set of legs in the box and Inter come away with a second corner for their pressure.
D. Rose
H. Kane
90' Spurs also make their last swap; Rose is on to replace Kane. Four added minutes on the way.
Borja Valero
R. Nainggolan
89' Nainggolan is the final man to depart for the hosts; Valero takes his place.
87' It's all square at San Siro, and Inter will surely feel they can snatch a win here in the final minutes. The visitors look absolutely gobsmacked by that goal.
K. Asamoah
85' That Icardi strike was off the outside of his boot too. Asamoah picked the perfect delivery there, opting to give it to his captain rather than one of the players in the box. Spurs look stunned.
M. Icardi
85' ICARDI WITH THE VOLLEY! 1-1! Inter are back on level terms with a wonderful strike from their captain. Asamoah crosses from the left wing and pulls it back to the striker just outside the box who then blasts the ball into the bottom-left corner past Vorm. What a goal.
84' Lucas makes another excellent run into the Inter box down the left flank and squares a pass across goal cleared only as far as Dier, who blasts the follow-up wide to the right.
M. Vorm
Yellow Card
82' Vorm is now booked for killing time as he tries to eat up the remaining minutes with a slow restart.
81' We're inside the last 10 minutes of regular time at San Siro now as Politano skies a 15-yard effort from the right side of the penalty box over the crossbar. How many more chances will Inter have?
79' Nainggolan wins a free-kick off a foul by Dier for Inter in the opposition half, but they can't turn it into a much-needed equaliser. Time is running out for the hosts...
77' Dier plays on a throughball for Winks as Tottenham press forward again, but the latter is flagged for offside.
76' Keita sniffs out a half-chance of a ball hung his way on the left flank, but it runs deep and away from him for a goal-kick before he can make a decisive touch.
74' Eriksen has been involved in 64 goals in his last 100 competitive appearances for Tottenham with 27 goals and 37 assists.
K. Baldé
M. Politano
72' Inter also make another swap, with Keita on for Politano.
H. Winks
E. Lamela
72' Tottenham make their second change of the game at a pause in play; Winks comes on to replace Lamela.
70' Inter pick up a free-kick now as Eriksen accidentally handles the ball.
68' Lucas cuts a blazing path down the left flank and canters into the Inter box. His unselfish attempt to lay on a square ball to Kane undoes him however as defenders smother him and force the ball to Handanovic.
67' Tottenham only lost one of their eight Champions League games last season - the second leg of their round-of-16 match against Juventus
66' Icardi concedes a foul in the Tottenham box as he clatters into Vorm, who was looking to play out from the back.
A. Candreva
I. Perišić
64' Perisic meanwhile departs for Inter, with Candreva on to replace him.
Lucas Moura
Son Heung-Min
64' The breathless play comes to a pause for the first changes of the game. Lucas takes to the field for Tottenham, in place of Son.
62' Lamela now slips behind the Inter defence and twists a low left-footed effort at Handanovic, who sends it back the Spurs man. It deflects out to Kane and then to Son, both of whom were offside, and the flag is raised for a free-kick to the hosts.
60' That goal has given a burst of life to an already engaging second half as play soars from end to end. Dier commits a foul on Politano, who spears in a free-kick from wide on the left wing that Miranda heads wide at the right post.
59' Back in the other half and Brozovic concedes a corner. From the set-piece, Son lets fly with a right-footed effort from outside the box that goes straight to the gloves of Handanovic.
57' Inter clear the set-piece and race down the other end, with Perisic heading a cross to Vorm. The hosts are looking to square things up as quickly as possible.
55' It's almost two in as many minutes for Tottenham as Lamela lets fly with a shot from distance that deflects wildly off De Vrij and out for a corner.
C. Eriksen
53' ERIKSEN HANDS TOTTENHAM THE LEAD! 1-0! The Spurs man curls a low shot in towards the bottom-left corner that Handanovic deflects back out into the box. Lamela lands a touch to steer it back to the Denmark man following a Miranda deflection and his second effort tips it over the keeper, arcing into the back of the net. Inter trail at home with just over 50 minutes on the clock.
E. Lamela
53' If Lamela, looking to try and bring Handanovic's deflection under control, had not skewed that touch back to Eriksen, Inter would have likely cleared. Instead, Tottenham find themselves a goal to the good at San Siro.
52' Brozovic opts to not float it in and instead taps on for Politano to try his luck. He steers it high and wide at the far post, leaving Vorm untroubled.
J. Vertonghen
Yellow Card
51' Vertonghen concedes a free-kick in a dangerous position now, 25 yards out in line with the right edge of the Spurs box, after fouling Nainggolan.
49' Aurier and Perisic jockey in pursuit of a ball that drifts into the Tottenham box and it is the former who draws the foul and wins the free-kick, to the latter's outrage.
47' Politano tips an effort from outside the box just around the top of the far post and thinks he should have a corner for a deflection, though the referee waves him away.
46' We are back underway in this Champions League Group B clash!
Both managers will want to inspire their sides during their chats at the break - but will either throw on an early change to see if they can force a break in the deadlock?
There's no goals at the break in this opening clash of the 2018-19 Champions League - but it's not for a lack of trying. Early efforts from Inter looked close to blowing Spurs away, but the hosts' inability to regularly convert their aggression has allowed Harry Kane's side to find a foothold in this game. At half-time, it's Inter 0-0 Tottenham.
45' Asamoah is tracked back by Lamela and fouled for a free-kick; the home crowd feel that there should have also been a card.
44' The set-piece is speared in but Inter get the free-kick a second later after Kane raises his leg too high reaching for the ball.
I. Perišić
Yellow Card
43' Handanovic makes a fantastic stop to cut off a square ball laid on for Kane following a promising Spurs move and then the visitors win a free-kick out on the right wing following a booking for a Perisic lunging foul.
40' Perisic wins a free-kick just inside his own half off a Vertonghen foul but Inter can't create anything from it.
39' Politano is the man to take and he smashes it straight into Kane in the defensive wall, the deflection sending the ball out for a corner. The set-piece is swung towards the far-left post; Vorm picks it out of the sky with some ease.
D. Sánchez
Yellow Card
38' Sanchez is handed a booking for a clumsy foul 22 yards out from his goal on Nainggolan. Inter in prime position here.
37' What a chance for Kane! The Tottenham captain blows a brilliant opportunity to hand his side the lead as he times his run to perfection to avoid the offside trap and meet a looping cross from Eriksen - only to be unable to finish the move as Handanovic forces him wide.
34' Vertonghen makes a meal of an attempted clearance that Nainggolan pounces on in the Spurs box. Sanchez clears his cross as he curls it in for Icardi; Brozovic then botches the follow-up attempt and sends it way wide.
33' Spurs win themselves a throw-in deep on their left wing but again find themselves forced back into their own half too easily by the Inter attack. Even with the ball at their feet, Tottenham look to be lacking a spark.
31' Inter, back down the other end, win themselves a corner from which the hosts appeal for a penalty after Perisic comes down challenging for the high ball. The referee waves them away and it will be a goal-kick.
30' Aurier wins a free-kick out on the right wing for Tottenham now which Eriksen pumps into the box from 40 yards out. Sanchez nearly lands a header but can't quite make a concrete connection; Handanovic saves with ease.
28' De Vrij concedes a corner that Spurs look to use to their advantage; the defender then wins himself a free-kick however as he draws the foul from Sanchez during the set-piece.
26' The visitors are awarded a free-kick just shy of the centre circle now though as Kane is brought down by Miranda.
25' Spurs are still looking off the pace as Inter push them back towards their own half again. There's little intent from the midfield to go forward and find a path for Son or Kane to exploit.
23' Tottenham have won just one of their previous nine European matches away from home against Italian opposition, though that victory did come at San Siro; a 1-0 win against AC Milan thanks to a Peter Crouch goal.
M. Škriniar
Yellow Card
21' Skriniar gets the first booking of the game after he brings down Son near the left edge of the Inter box. Spurs tip their free-kick in to Davies who manages a touch with his head - but the ball ricochets around the penalty area and eventually is claimed by Handanovic.
19' Davies and Dembele both foul Nainggolan a minute apart with the latter offering a prime chance to shoot for goal from a free-kick. Inter can't guide it near enough to Vorm however and it drifts wide to the right.
17' Now Spurs win a corner off Miranda and play it short on their right flank before looking to tip it in for Kane. Asamoah clears for the hosts and Inter once again soar off towards the opposite end with attacking intent.
16' Tottenham's defence looks shaky so far, with Inter determined to press them further each time. Aurier is forced into conceding another corner, but the set-piece is swung straight to Vorm.
14' Inter push back deep again and win another throw on the right wing. Politano puts it long into the box; Perisic heads on to Vecino who spins and sprays his effort high and wide to the left amid a crowd of defenders.
13' Down the other end, Spurs win a free-kick following a Vecino foul on Lamela. From 25 or so yards out in the centre channel, Eriksen pops it over the wall and sends Handanovic diving low to his right to keep the shot out. Great effort; great save.
11' Icardi goes close! Perisic flicks on a deep throw-in from the right wing and the forward pokes an effort down towards the bottom corner of the goal; Sanchez intercepts and clears with an excellent overhead kick.
10' Further pressure from Inter sees Son concede a corner, though this time, Kane drops back deep to clear the box for his side. It's the hosts who look the most in the mood so far.
9' The set-piece from the left wing is swung deep, beating the huddle in the box but finding Nainggolan on the right. He fails to connect with a quality shot though and puts it out for a goal-kick.
8' Perisic breaks through on the left of the Spurs box and looks to deliver a cutback in for Icardi, one which Aurier slides across to put out for a corner.
5' Some interesting absences from the Tottenham party in Italy today; Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld are both missing, having been left out for 'technical reasons' by their manager. Whether that choice comes back to haunt them, only time will tell...
3' Icardi slips in behind Dier and latches onto a throughball from Nainggolan into an unmarked Spurs box; he too however is flagged for offside by the linesman.
2' The hosts are awarded the first free-kick of the game after Kane is trapped offside from a neat throughball.
1' We are underway in this Champions League Group B clash between Inter and Tottenham!
The teams have emerged at San Siro and we're moments away from kick-off.
Tottenham captain Kane has scored nine goals in 10 Champions League appearances so far in his career. The fastest players to 10 Champions League goals are currently Adriano, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, with 11 each, meaning Kane could equalise their record today.
Inter have not drawn at home in the Champions League since a 2-2 result against Dynamo Kiev in October 2009, winning nine and losing four of the last 13 such games.
The pair previously met in the 2010-11 edition of the Champions League at this stage, both progressing from Group A against Werder Bremen and Twente. Their only other encounters? A two-legged round-of-16 tie in the 2012-13 Europa League, where Tottenham overturned an initial 4-1 deficit to win 3-0 in the second game and progress on away goals.
Subs: Danny Rose, Kyle Walker-Peters, Lucas Moura, Harry Winks, Victor Wanyama, Fernando Llorente, Paulo Gazzaniga.
TOTTENHAM (4-3-1-2): Michel Vorm; Davinson Sanchez, Ben Davies, Serge Aurier, Jan Vertonghen; Mousa Dembele, Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier; Erik Lamela; Harry Kane, Son Heung-min.
Subs: Tommaso Berni, Daniele Padelli, Andrea Ranocchia, Antonio Candreva, Borja Valero, Danilo D'Ambrosio, Keita Balde Diao.
INTER (4-5-1): Samir Handanovic; Kwadwo Asamoah, Milan Skriniar, Miranda, Stefan de Vrij; Radja Nainggolan, Ivan Perisic, Matteo Politano, Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino; Mauro Icardi.
As for Tottenham, they also make five swaps to the team who lost to Liverpool at Wembley. Son Heung-min returns following his victory with South Korea at the Asian Games; Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez and Erik Lamela are the others into the starting XI.
Team news now and the hosts make five changes to the side downed by Parma at the weekend. Forward Mauro Icardi is promoted from the bench; Matias Vecino, Matteo Politano, Kwadwo Asamoah and Miranda also all feature.
In a group that includes Barcelona and PSV, both Luciano Spalletti and Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to start off with a victory after mixed starts to the domestic campaign. Neither side has ever beaten the other away from home however - so does San Siro spell a clear advantage for Inter today?
The pair meet for the fifth time in competitive European football with two wins each to their name; who, if either, will make it three in Italy?
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2018-19 Champions League as Inter and Tottenham kick-off in Group B at San Siro.
