Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Both teams are in EFL Cup action next week. Fulham are on the road to Crawley Town on Tuesday, while Brentford are also away at Colchester United on the same day.
Fulham secure their first Premier League win of the campaign in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Brentford at Craven Cottage. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored at the death to earn his side the three points after it looked as though the Bees had earned a draw courtesy of a comeback. The Cottagers took the lead through Bobby De Cordova-Reid after 44 seconds before Joao Palhinha notched his first goal for the club to double their advantage. Christian Norgaard hit back for the visitors to reduce the deficit before half-time. Ivan Toney had two goals disallowed before he finally scored to equalise with a close-range effort. However, Mitrovic notched his third goal of the campaign to snatch the win for Fulham.

Mbabu puts another brilliant cross into the box from the right flank that allows Mitrovic to climb above Mbeumo and power a header beyond the reach of Raya into the bottom-right corner. He dives full length towards the corner flag and appears to hurt himself in the process, but he won't care about that for now.
89' Mitrovic is pleading for a penalty after Norgaard gets in the way of a cross from Cairney from the left flank. The referee says no on the field.
87' BLOCK! Jansson puts his body on the line at the back to block Reed's blast from the edge of the box after excellent work from Mbabu down the right flank to create the opportunity.

Goal
Brentford
71' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! TONEY EQUALISES THIS TIME!!!! 2-2!!! After having two goals chalked off for offside, Toney finally finds the back of the net legally to level the scores. Wissa is the architect with a great run down the inside-right channel and he fires a dangerous cutback into the middle. Toney meets it on the stretch on his right boot, steering his effort home.
70' DISALLOWED GOAL! Toney finishes with a left-footed blast after latching on to Wissa's throughball, but the flag was up the second the ball hit the back of the net.
69' Toney rises from the resulting corner from Mbeumo, but can only head his effort well over the bar.
68' Lewis-Potter probes down the right flank and hammers a low cross towards the near post that Leno can only fumble behind. However, it did seem as though the ball went out behind the byline before Lewis-Potter hit his cross into the box.
67' BLOCK! After Ream fails to stretch to connect with a header at the back post, Brentford break upfield. Stansfield has to track back to block Henry's strike out for a throw-in.
66' MITROVIC MISSES A SITTER! Norgaard plays a backpass straight to Mitrovic in the box, giving the forward space and time to pick his spot. However, Raya makes a fine save to push his right-footed strike wide of the left post.
65' The game is very much in the balance at this stage. Fulham have a lead to protect, but have looked shaky at the back at times. You get the feeling they need another goal.
64' Palhinha already has the Fulham fans chanting his name and he continues a fine outing by taking the ball out from the back and drawing a foul from Norgaard to ease the pressure on his team.
62' Dasilva makes a good run as he latches on to a deflected offload from Lewis-Potter, but he cannot take the ball in stride in the box as Leno gathers.

51' VAR! DISALLOWED GOAL! Toney turns to collect an offload from Henry and dispatches a low strike past Leno into the bottom-left corner. However, the Brentford celebrations are cut short as VAR deems that Toney was offside when he latched on to Henry's pass. It's a close call.
48' Brentford hit straight back on the counter at the other end. Toney gets the wrong side of Tosin, but the defender recovers to bundle the forward off the ball. There are shouts for a free-kick, but the referee dismisses their appeal.
47' Periera leads a break into the Brentford half and finds Mitrovic in the box, but for once the forward makes the wrong decision and goes for a cutback rather than a strike on his right foot.
46' We're back under way at Craven Cottage.
Marco Silva will enter the break with a bittersweet feeling. Fulham were excellent for 30 minutes, but began to lose their discipline and allowed Brentford back into the game before the break. The Cottagers now have a tough 45 minutes to get back on top to secure their first win of the Premier League campaign.
Fulham hold a 2-1 lead at the break in their Premier League clash against Brentford at Craven Cottage. The hosts went ahead after 44 seconds when Bobby De Cordova-Reid bundled home a finish after Jay Stansfield struck the bar. Joao Palhinha then doubled their advantage with a brilliant header to notch his first goal for the club. But, there was a sting in the tail before the break as Brentford got a goal back through a fine set-piece move that was converted by Christian Norgaard on the volley, leaving the game in the balance.

43' Stansfield and Tete look to combine in the final third, but the winger sends a heavy offload down the right flank for the defender that travels out of play for a goal-kick.
40' OFFSIDE! Pereira twists and turns in the midfield before cutting open the Brentford defence. Mitrovic collects his pass and fakes the shot to draw the lunge from Jansson before firing at goal. Raya holds firm to make a fine block, but the Serbia international was offside anyway.
37' CHANCE! Mbeumo threads a lofted pass through for Wissa that he stretches for in the box with a diving header. However, he fails to make meaningful contact with the ball and heads a tame effort into the hands of Leno.
34' SAVE! Mbeumo finds space for a strike in the final third and blasts his effort towards the top-right corner, but Leno watches it all the way to make the stop.
31' Fulham are in control of the game, but cannot afford to lose their discipline on the field. One mistake could change the context of the contest.

His deflected strike hits the bar, but De Cordova-Reid is first to react and converts.
1' We're under way at Craven Cottage.
Brentford have only lost one of their last 19 away games against Fulham in all competitions (W8 D10), a 1-0 defeat in the third-tier in April 1990, and are unbeaten in their last 11 there (W5 D6).
Brentford have made one change to their side that defeated United last week. Frank makes a tactical switch to a 4-3-3 formation that sees Wissa come into the side to replace Rasmussen, who drops to the bench. Brentford revert to four at the back with Mee and Jansson operating in the heart of their defence.
Fulham have made two changes to their side that drew with Wolves last time out. Leno comes into the side to replace Rodak between the posts, despite the Cottagers keeping a clean sheet in their last outing. Stansfield gets the nod in the final third to start in place of the injured Neeskens Kebano.
BRENTFORD SUBS: Saman Ghoddos, Frank Onyeka, Halil Dervisoglu, Thomas Strakosha, Keane Lewis-Potter, Shandon Baptiste, Vitaly Janelt, Mads Bech Sorensen, Mads Roerslev Rasmussen.
BRENTFORD (4-3-3): David Raya; Aaron Hickey, Pontus Jansson, Ben Mee, Rico Henry; Josh Dasilva, Christian Norgaard, Mathias Jensen; Bryan Mbeumo, Ivan Toney, Yoane Wissa.
FULHAM SUBS: Marek Rodak, Shane Duffy, Tom Cairney, Nathaniel Chalobah, Kevin Mbabu, Issa Diop, Tyrese Francois, Terry Ablade, Luke Harris.
FULHAM (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Kenny Tete, Tosin Adarabioyo, Tim Ream, Antonee Robinson; Harrison Reed, Joao Palhinha; Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Andreas Pereira, Jay Stansfield; Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Brentford produced an outstanding performance to hammer Manchester United in their last outing. The Bees were all over the Red Devils to get their first win of the campaign as goals from Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo delivered the three points. Thomas Frank's men took a point from their first road match of the term against Leicester, and will need a resilient outing to overcome the Cottagers today.
Fulham have made a solid start back to life in the Premier League with back-to-back draws. The Cottagers played out an entertaining 2-2 contest with Liverpool on the opening day courtesy of a brace from Aleksandar Mitrovic. Marco Silva's men then took a point from their game against Wolves, but should have left with all three as Mitrovic was denied from the penalty spot. There is plenty for Fulham to build on, but they will want to get that first win ticked off as soon as possible.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Fulham and Brentford at Craven Cottage.
