Despite having arrived in the Philippines as the underdogs following Ceres-Negros FC's 5-0 thumping of Tampines Rovers FC at the same venue in the previous matchday, Felda United FC managed to earn a point from their AFC Cup group match against the Busmen on Wednesday. The match at the Panaad Stadium ended 0-0, with the Fighters collecting their second point in the competition.
Felda went into the match having collected just one point from two matches, while Ceres were sitting pretty at the top of Group G with four points.
The home side manager Risto Vidaković was forced to make an early substitution, when defender Junior Muñoz had to come off for an injury in the 34th minute.
In the 60th minute the visitors came close to opening the scoring, when they were awarded a penalty after Philippines Jose Porteria fouled Norshahrul Idlan Talaha in the box.
However Lucas Cano could not make the chance count, as his penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Roland Müller who dived the right way.
The match remained goalless until the final whistle.
Following the draw, Ceres still lead the group although they are now level on five points with second-placed Ha Noi FC, while Felda United remain bottom of the group with two points. Tampines are third with three points, following their 4-0 away defeat to Ha Noi on the same day.
