Commentary

That's all for the live text commentary for this game. Until next time, goodbye.
Atletico travel to Porto next week while Leverkusen host Brugge. The former are currently a point clear of the latter and therefore in the driving seat in the race for third place. As has already been established, they're out of the Champions League for this season.
The referee calls time on a thrilling game. Atletico twice fought back from a goal down to earn a point against a talented Leverkusen side, and thought they had won it right at the death only for Carrasco's penalty to be saved by Hradecky. The result means the two sides will battle it out for third place and a spot in the Europa League on the final day of the group phase - they're both out of the Champions League.

72' Griezmann arrows a fine free-kick from the left side but Leverkusen mangage to direct it behind for a corner - that corner then comes to nothing.

56' Leverkusen nearly catch Atletico sleeping with a smart high ball following a quick break - but Oblak plucks it out of the air before throwing it quickly to Gimenez.
54' Atletico's tactical tweak has changed their game for the better. They have more bodies in midfield and are looking more adept at both winning back and retaining control of the ball.
52' The atmosphere here at Civitas Metropolitano has gone up another notch following that equaliser.

Assist
Atlético Madrid
50' Carrasco did well to pick De Paul out in a shooting position.
R. De Paul
Goal
Atlético Madrid
50' GOAL! Atletico make it 2-2 through half-time substitute De Paul. The Argentine received a pass at the edge of the box and then turned before guiding his effort past Hradecky and into the back of the net. A superb finish that sparked raucous celebrations.
48' Kondogbia directs a guided ball toward Carrasco at the back post - but the Belgian fails to control the long pass and it goes out for a goal kick.

Given what happened in the other game in this group earlier today, Atletico will enter the final matchday of the group phase rooted to the bottom should this result remain as it currently is. Diego Simeone will need to send a strong message to his players at the interval.
Atletico go into the half-time break a goal down. They started well but fell victim to a smart opener from Diaby. The home side got back on level terms through Carrasco soon after, looking intent on turning the tide, only before another break to see Hudson-Odoi regain Leverkusen's lead. The German side are good value for the result as things stand.

40' Xabi Alonso is booked for slowing down an Atletico throw-in.
40' Diaby carries the ball forward into space on the right flank before coming in onto his left foot and shooting on goal - only for his effort to be easily dealt with.
38' The home crowd are whistling Leverkusen for taking too long over a goal kick - they're beginning to get a little anxious.
36' Atletico are continuing to try and pin Leverkusen back in their own half but the visitors are standing strong - and, as they've demonstrated, retaining a real threat on the break.
34' CHANCE! Griezmann comes short to collect a corner before turning and playing a clipped pass into the box. Morata's headed effort, however, flashes just over the bar.

26' Correa, free as a bird, bounds into space on a lightning break. But a foul from Morata in the build-up kills the move.
24' Brugge try to clap back with a couple of half-chances - but the crowd are behind Atletico now and the wind is very much in their sails.
A. Griezmann
Assist
Atlético Madrid
22' Griezmann laid off the ball perfectly for Carrasco to meet it first-time.
Y. Carrasco
Goal
Atlético Madrid
22' GOAL! Carrasco draws Atletico level and makes it 1-1. The Belgian received the ball at the edge off the box and unleashed a low, driven, first-time finish that flew into the bottom left corner of the net. A superb, decisive strike.
20' Molina is slipped in by Gimenez down the right flank. The Argentine tries to pull the ball back across the face of goal only for it to be cut out by Leverkusen.
18' Aside from Correa's half-chance, Atletico are finding it hard to break down their visitors.
16' Leverkusen are defending in a resolute 5-3-2 shape when out of possession.
14' Leverkusen have, unsurprisingly, grown in stature since the goal.
12' CHANCE! Correa does well to win the ball against two Leverkusen defenders before getting a shot off inside the box. His effort is saved, however, and put out for a corner that eventually comes to nothing.
10' Atletico take the kick-off quickly - they want to issue a reponse as soon as possible.
A. Hložek
Assist
Bayer Leverkusen
9' Hlozek did well to assist Diaby. He got the ball out of his feet quickly before playing it straight to the goalscorer.
M. Diaby
Goal
Bayer Leverkusen
9' GOAL! Diaby scores to put Leverkusen 1-0 ahead. He received the pass well inside the box, adjusted his body and finished coolly past Oblak.
8' Leverkusen enjoy their first extended period of play in Atletico's half but it comes to nothing after Diaby is caught offside in the buildup.
6' Atletico threaten again from a set-piece, this time a corner from the right side by Griezmann. It's well-taken but dealt with easily by the Leverkusen defence.
4' Atletico have started with real purpose. They want to put on a show for their fans and deliver a front-foot performance.
2' Atletico have an early chance, birthed from a Carrasco free-kick from deep on the right side. But Griezmann is caught offside in the buildup and the move fizzles out.
1' We're underway here at Civitas Metropolitano.
Porto have won 4-0 at Brugge in the group's other game. That means that, ahead of Atletico's clash with Leverkusen, they're five points behind Porto and six shy of Brugge. If they don't win this game they can kiss a place in the next phase of the Champions League goodbye - Leverkusen, in all honesty, already have.
Leverkusen have made five changes from the team that took a 3-0 beating at the hands of Porto last matchday. Tapsoba replaces Tah, Frimpong starts instead of Adli, Andrich replaces Demirbay, Amiri plays at the expense of Aranguiz and Hlozek comes in for Schick.
Atletico have made four changes from the side that drew 0-0 with Brugge last matchday. Hermoso has replaced Savic, Witsel has come in for Koke, Morata has started instead of Lemar and Carrasco plays at Saul's expense.

Leverkusen come into this one rooted to the bottom of Champions League Group B. They've taken three points from their opening four games and making it into the next phase of the Champions League is all but ruled out. They do still have hope, however, of catching Atletico and progressing to the next phase of the Europa League. But they have to win this.
Atletico enter matchday five of Champions League Group B placed third - two points behind second-placed Porto and six behind pace-setters Club Brugge. Catching the latter is an impossible task due to the head-to-head record but victory over Leverkusen could cut the gap to Porto. As things stand, Atletico are headed for the Europa League.
