Goal takes a look at top five players who played for both Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United in the PSL era

    The recently retired midfielder spent one successful season with SuperSport in which he established himself as one of the top players in the country. Nicknamed The General, Modise joined Sundowns from Orlando Pirates in 2011 and he helped Sundowns win two PSL titles. The General also boasts Caf Champions League, Caf Super Cup, Nedbank Cup and Telkom Knockout winners' medals.

    Hlompho Kekana

    The Sundowns captain is one of the most successful players in PSL history having won six league titles - a record which he shares with Daine Klate, Denis Onyango and Anthony Laffor. The midfield maestro lifted two titles with SuperSport between 2008 and 2010 and has since won another four with Sundowns. He also boasts Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout Cup, Caf Super Cup, and Caf Champions League winners' medals.

    Elias Pelembe

    The Mozambican winger, who is now with Bidvest Wits, was SuperSport's best player as they clinched two successful PSL titles between 2008 and 2009. The dribbling wizard then secured a move to Sundowns where he won the Nedbank Cup and PSL title as a fan-favourite before leaving the club in 2015.

    Denis Onyango

    The accomplished goalkeeper enjoyed a lot of success with both SuperSport and Sundowns. The Ugandan goal-minder was part of the SuperSport team which won three successful PSL titles between 2008 and 2010. He has since clinched three league trophies with Sundowns plus the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout Cup, Caf Super Cup and Caf Champions League.

    The Liberian forward is another accomplished player in the Sundowns squad as he has six PSL winners' medals. The tricky player helped SuperSport clinch two league titles before moving to Sundowns where he has since won four league winners' medals the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout Cup, Caf Super Cup and Caf Champions League.
