John Moeti: Kaizer Chiefs' Zwane leads tributes to Orlando Pirates legend - Soweto silenced

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has described fallen Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana midfielder John Moeti as a dedicated and disciplined player.

Zwane and Moeti played together at Pirates and the Chiefs tactician expressed his sadness at losing the football giant who played a key role in making him and others better players through his advice.

The 1996 Africa Cup of Nations winner, who played for Pirates between 1994 and 2000 before switching to SuperSport United in 2001, succumbed to an undisclosed illness at his home on Monday.

The Bafana Bafana legend had reportedly been receiving specialist medical care for the past eight months.

Soweto-born Moeti was part of the Pirates side that claimed the 1995 Caf Champions League crown before continental success with the national team followed a year later. He was also in the Bafana Bafana squad that lost the 1998 Afcon final, following a 2-0 defeat to Egypt.

Here are some of the tributes to the fallen legend.
