Italy Under-19s secure a resounding victory in their European Qualifiers opener: 3-0 against Hungary, with Milan’s Comotto also on the scoresheet

The Italian youth teams continue their excellent run, thanks to a victory for the Italian Under-19 national team.

The Azzurri youth side’s campaign in the second qualifying round for the European Championships got off to a resounding start: on the pitch at the Nicola Ceravolo stadium in Catanzaro, the Azzurrini, coached and selected by manager Alberto Bollini, beat their Hungarian counterparts 3-0.

  • THE MATCH

It was never really in doubt throughout the match, with the Azzurrini in complete control of the situation and the game. Iddrissou got the ball rolling in the 44th minute – just before half-time – putting Italy’s Under-19s ahead.

In the second half, Bollini’s lads maintained excellent control and doubled their lead in the 78th minute, thanks to a brace from Iddrissou following an assist from former Rossonero Mattia Liberali, the Catanzaro playmaker. In the closing stages, Christian Comotto (following in his father’s footsteps, on loan at Spezia and owned by Milan), who came on for Mantini, found the net to seal a 3-0 victory for the Azzurrini over Hungary.
