Afcon 2019: Wahbi Khazri and other Tunisia players to watch for against Nigeria

Ahead of their Afcon third-place meeting, here are a few Tunisian players Nigeria would do well to be wary of.

    Naim Sliti

Unfortunately for him, his country and the competition, Sliti has not shown his best form in the competition. Much of that is to do with the fact manager Alain Giresse has yet to decide on an optimal attacking set-up. A game like this, with the pressure off, could see him shine, showcasing his skill on the ball and his creative presence.

    Anice Badri

The Esperance forward has been underutilised in Egypt, another victim of Giresse's indecision. Whereas much of Tunisia's play can lack thrust, Badri offers the incision needed and is an asset on the counter. He will likely get a chance to impress, and if he can bring his Caf Champions League form, he would be a handful.

    Wahbi Khazri

The St. Etienne forward has been Tunisia's most consistent attacking spark at the Africa Cup of Nations; often the only one. Able to play across the forward positions, he is also handy from set-pieces and has the highest skill level of any of Tunisia's players. Keeping him quiet, in truth, is probably only half the job.

    Ferjani Sassi

The composed midfielder may well rue the penalty miss which arguably doomed Tunisia in the semi-final. However, if he can channel his emotion properly, he may be able to play with the edge his return from injury has denied him. His metronomic passing and intelligent positioning out of possession could be key to one-upping the Nigeria midfield.
