2019 Afcon qualifiers: Patrick Matasi and key players for Kenya against Ethiopia

Goal Kenya.
The last time Harambee Stars reached the Afcon finals was way back in 2004 in Tunis, Tunisia under coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee

  1. Tusker.

    #1 Patrick Matasi

Matasi was the reason why Kenya did not concede against Ghana last month. He made about three vital saves that kept Kenya's hopes alive. The match against Ethiopia is crucial and the best the Tusker keeper can do is to ensure his defense is well organized and does not leak goals again.

  2. Goal Kenya.

    #2 Musa Mohammed

The defender won the hearts of many with his perfect display in the identical 1-0 wins against Ghana and Malawi respectively. Ethiopia is desperate for maximum points and good organization at the back will be needed. Musa has to command the back line well and ensure all the loopholes are filled well.

  3. Goal Kenya.

    #3 Dennis Odhiambo

Many fans were used to seeing him take the left back role while playing for the national team but against Ghana, he was deployed in the midfield and did an amazing job. He stopped the attacks that were channeled from the midfield and won possession for the team. It will be interesting to see what coach Sebastien Migne has in store for him.

  4. Goal Kenya.

    #4 Victor Wanyama

Missed the 1-0 win against the Black Stars but is set to feature for the Harambee Stars on Wednesday. It will be the first time he will be playing under coach Sebastien Migne in the competitive assignment, and will definitely want to prove that he is the man to help the team qualify for the Afcon finals for the first time since 2004.

  5. Goal Kenya.

    #5 Michael Olunga

He has been the main man for the Kenyan team's attacking department, owing to the bluntness of other strikers. Olunga will lead Kenya's hunt for goals hoping to get his name in the score sheet once again. He is quick, strong and has an eye for goal, and he is aware what is expected of him.
