Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Doherty, Coady salute ‘unique’ Adama Traore

Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Matt Doherty and Conor Coady have lauded Adama Traore following his match-winning performance in Saturday’s Premier League game against West Ham United.

The £18 million summer record signing, making his fourth appearance, came on to score a stoppage time winner against the Hammers at the London Stadium to help Nuno Espirito Santo’s men nick their first win of the season.

And his teammate Doherty, excited with the performance, has praised the quality of the 22-year-old.

"He's unique. You just can't stop him. You see how many people are trying to take him down, he either gets away or gets fouled,” Doherty told Express & Star .

"He's one of a kind, we haven't seen anything like him before. It's scary. It certainly helps when you've got a player coming off the bench who can run the whole length of the pitch before anybody even gets halfway."

Wolves captain Conor Coady heaped praises on the forward and is delighted with the options available upfront for boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

"I wouldn't want him running at me, believe me," Coady said.

"He's so quick but it's his decision-making as well, he's got total confidence in his own ability which I think is special as well.

"He's a real asset to this football club.

"The options we've got going forward at the minute are fantastic, you see Jota and Costa doing what they do and then Traore off the bench, it's pleasing to see."
