'We played poorly' - Borno's Simon Dogo on Yobe defeat

Simon Dogo says Government Secondary School was not at their best after surrendering one goal lead to bow 2-1 at the regionals in Bauchi on Thursday.

Having secured a 1-0 lead at half time, second half strikes from Umar Abdullahi and Umar Yahaya saw the Borno's side crumble at the Sa’adu Zungur primary school field.

"I feel very bad because we were leading in the first half," Dogo told Goal.

"We shouldn't have lost the game if not because we were fasting; we were tired and played poorly in the second half. We could not hold on to our lead.

"Our opponents were they showed us that they were capable of turning things around despite we were defeating them in the first half. They equalized and eventually beat us.

"I know it is not over us. We will put more effort in our next game."

He further revealed dreams of taking after his role model, Barcelona's Neymar considering the Brazilian’s wonderful skills and the ability of scoring.

"I like to be like Neymar. I want to play him because I like him very well. He is a star player and I want to like him.”
