Hougang United outline serious ambitions with the signing of Hafiz Abu Sujad and Afiq Yunos

After a disappointing ninth-place finish in the SPL (Singapore Premier League) last season, Hougang United have decided to beef up their squad as they look to have a better outing in the 2019 SPL season.

The Cheetahs have recruited Tampines Rovers' left-back Hafiz Abu Sujad and Geylang International Afiq Yunos while it is believed that Home United's M.Anumanthan and Chonburi FC's Zulfahmi Arifin are also primed for a return, to the club. Furthermore, it is rumoured that veteran defender Baihakki Khaizan is also on the club's radar.

Another boost for Hougang is the fact that former Singapore international Fazrul Nawaz will be plying his trade with the club for another year. It is true that 2018 represented a turbulent season for Hougang but looking at their transfer business, 2019 could be a different story altogether.
