Teko Modise in advanced talks with Cape Town City

According to reports, the former Pirates midfielder is close to joining the Citizens

It was previously reported that while Cape Town City were keen on signing Teko Modise , they would only make an approach if head coach Benedict McCarthy gave the go ahead.

The 34-year-old midfielder was released by Mamelodi Sundowns after spending over six years at the club and has already been linked with a move to several clubs in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) including a return to Orlando Pirates.

But according to the latest reports coming out of Cape Town, it now seems likely that the veteran will be the Citizens fourth signing of the season with negotiations said to be at an advanced stage.

City have already roped in Lyle Lakay, Mozambique international Joao Pedro Mussica and South African star Ayanda Patosi.

However, City have been eager to make at least one other marquee signing ahead of the new season, and after losing out to Bidvest Wits for Steven Pienaar, Modise fits the profile for the ambitious City.
