The victory over the Citizens took the defending PSL champions to the top of the league standings having drawn with Polokwane City and Bidvest Wits away.

"Chippa United’s Clinton Larsen and Kaitano Tembo of SuperSport United were close on the heels of Mosimane in getting the award. They were both praised for the brilliant work produced at their respective teams during February," a PSL statement read.

Meanwhile, Lorch was in top form during the month of February as the 25-year-old winger helped Pirates secure victories over Chippa United and Maritzburg United.

The South Africa international netted his third goal in as many league matches when the Buccaneers secured a 4-2 victory over Chippa at the Orlando Stadium.

"Lorch, on the other hand, stood head and shoulders above his colleagues and contenders for the player award. Players such as Lebohang Maboe of Mamelodi Sundowns, Chippa United’s Gladwin Shitolo and Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize were nominated for their impressive efforts in their respective teams," another PSL statement read.

It was also revealed that Mosimane and Lorch will each receive R5 000 as a reward.
