Sofapaka duo of Umaru Kasumba and Yussuf Mohammed picked up injuries in the final pre-season friendly against Mathare United last week

Sofapaka forward Umaru Kasumba has been ruled out for at least four weeks.

The Ugandan international picked up a hamstring injury in the final pre-season friendly match against Mathare United.

Melis Medo, who beat Mount Kenya United in the opening match will also have to do without left-back Yussuf Mohammed.

Mohammed, who is expected to sit out for two weeks, is nursing a shoulder injury after he fell awkwardly in the same match with Mathare.

“It’s a shame especially with Kasumba because in training he was superb and hitting the goals. We will miss him but hopefully he comes back better and stronger,” coach Melis Medo told

Batoto Ba Mungu resumed training on Tuesday morning in Ruiru ahead of next Sunday’s tie against Bandari at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
