Jamie Maclaren tapped home an 86th-minute equaliser for Hibernian on Saturday as the Socceroos striker reminded fans why they wanted him back so badly.

The Australian has returned to Hibs for a season-long loan after a short spell in Scotland at the end of the last campaign which saw him claim a hat-trick against Rangers on the final day.

With his side trailing Aberdeen, Maclaren was brought on in the 76th minute and slotted home the equaliser ten minutes later to ensure Hibernian continued their unbeaten start to the season.

One win and two draws sees Hibs temporarily sit second with fellow Socceroos recruit Mark Milligan yet to feature for the club.

Hibernian coach Neil Lennon happy that his side remain undefeated but ruing a lost two points.

“I am happy with the performance,” Lennon said.

“I’m really disappointed with the goal we conceded from a set play. It’s criminal from our point of view.

“A draw was the least we deserved, but I feel we have dropped two points today. That cost us a little bit last year and we have to turn that dominance in games into wins.”
