The twelve-time league champions had played on Saturday against Posta Rangers, winning 2-1 in the process. Goal understands that the team was to have a light training session on Monday in preparations for the match but that did not happen.
“We were told to rest on Monday, we were given a day off despite having a match on Tuesday. The coach wanted us to have a light session and we knew that as well, but we received a contrasting message. But we are ready for the game against Sharks on Tuesday,” said a player, who did not want to be named.
Reports have it that the coach was all alone in the training facility, not knowing that the players were not coming. Efforts to reach Zapata for comment were futile.
AFC Leopards will be a way to Sharks at Machakos Kenyatta Stadium from 3.00pm.
