The Malawian international could soon make his return to Thohoyandou as he seeks to find a new football home in the PSL

Former Platinum Stars midfielder Robert Ng'ambi could soon be named as a Black Leopards player.

The Malawian international has been training with Lidoda Duvha this week and could be handed a contract with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) club.

“Yeah he was training at Leopards this week. It is still early to say he will sign because he is still taking it easy in training,” a source told Goal.

“I can give you the whole story next week because he received a call from the chairman, (David Thidiela) to come and train with the club when he was in Johannesburg,” added the informant.

The 32-year-old Flames midfielder represented Leopards between 2005 and 2011 before leaving for Dikwena where he had established himself as one of the most skilfull players in the league.

“I saw the story in the media and I don't think this is the right time to talk about it because it is too early. I think Robert is in good terms with the chairman, he calls him his father and you will remember he started his PSL career here,” revealed the source.

A look back at the attacker's career at Stars, Ng'ambi played a pivotal role in helping the then Phokeng-based club to Telkom Knockout and MTN8 triumphs in 2013.

“So everything is fine for now in training for him and I am sure by next week Tuesday or Wednesday, there will be a better story to write about,' concluded the source.

Although the Thohoyandou-based club has parted ways with coach Joel Masutha on Monday, the chairman is looking to bolster the team with the aim of remaining in the top tier.
