Ndlovu, who has been backed to win the PSL Young Player of the Season award, is believed to be on the radar of Bucs alongside Fileccia

Orlando Pirates are reportedly keen to sign two of  Maritzburg United players in Siphelele Ndlovu and Andrea Fileccia ahead of next season.

The two players have been influential for the Team of Choice, who are enjoying their best season since they were promoted to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) in 2008.

Attacking midfielder Ndlovu, who made his debut for Bafana Bafana during the Four-Nation tournament in March, 2018, has netted five goals in 26 league appearances this season.

Belgian striker Fileccia has established himself as Maritzburg’s main striker having scored nine goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.

Bucs, who qualified for next season's Caf Champions League after securing a second place on the log, are expected to beef up their squad during the July-August transfer window.

According to a source close to The Citizen,  Bucs could include former Maritzburg striker Ayanda Nkosi in deal which would see the marksman return to Pietermaritzburg.

“With the Caf Champions League also on the agenda for next season, there is a need for adding a few player,” the source said.

“And I heard that Ndlovu and Fileccia are among the players who might be lured to Orlando Stadium next season,” the source added.

“They might offer Maritzburg some of their players in return, with the likes of Ayanda Nkosi likely to be part of the deal,” the source concluded.

Nkosi has fallen out of favour at Bucs this season having made only five appearances in the league without scoring.

Maritzburg will qualify for next season’s Caf Confederation Cup if they beat Free State Stars in next weekend’s Nedbank Cup final.

The Team of Choice can also secure their place in the next year's continental football by finishing third on the final day of the season.

It remains to be seen whether Maritzburg would agree to sell Fileccia and Ndlovu to Pirates having already made it clear that none of their star players would be sold to the big three teams in South Africa

Ndlovu recently signed a new long-term deal with the Team of Choice.
