Portland Timbers’ Fanendo Adi named MLS Player of the Week

Following his fine goalscoring run, the Nigerian has been announced as the top player in the American topflight league for the week

Portland Timbers forward Fanendo Adi has been named the MLS player for Week 15 of the 2017 Major League Soccer season.

It was the fourth time Adi was named league's best since he joined the Providence Park outfit in 2014.

The 26-year-old forward has eight goals, two assists in 14 league games for the Caleb Porter’s men this season as they continue their quest for the top spot in the West Conference log with two points behind leaders, Sporting Kansas City.

Adi was not included in the Timbers’ team that lost 2-1 to Seattle Sounders in their US Open Cup fixture on Wednesday.

Portland Timbers visit the Children's Mercy Park for the next league game against Colorado Rapids on June 18.
