Paul Pogba could be set to hand Manchester United a timely boost after stepping up his return from a hamstring injury.

The most expensive player in world football has been sidelined since picking up a knock in a Europa League clash with Rostov on March 16.

The ailment prevented the Frenchman from gracing a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough and linking up with his country during the international break.

Mou's Man Utd no better than LvG

Pogba was also missing as United toiled their way to a 0-0 draw with West Brom on Saturday – their eighth stalemate at Old Trafford this season.

He was, however, to take to the field after the Premier League encounter as a number of first-team stars were put through a post-match training exercise.

Jose Mourinho may get the opportunity to welcome the £89 million midfielder back into his plans for a midweek meeting with Everton.

“Paul Pogba was part of a small group of Manchester United players who trained on the Old Trafford pitch directly after the 0-0 draw with West Brom, as the Reds prepare to face Everton on Tuesday,” United posted on the club’s official website.

“The group was made up of Saturday's substitutes, including Wayne Rooney even though he came off the bench during the stalemate, as well as the likes of recently-suspended pair Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera.

Mou: Man Utd forwards disappear

“With just two days to prepare for the visit of Everton in the next Premier League assignment, boss Jose Mourinho was clearly wasting no time in readying his troops.

“The most interesting figure to note, however, was the return of Pogba who will hopefully provide a boost by returning to full fitness soon.”

United need all of the bodies they can get at present, with a hectic schedule not about to get any easier as they continue to compete on multiple fronts.
