Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic calls for a response against Free State Stars

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says he hopes their supporters will acknowledge their efforts despite losing the Telkom Knockout Cup final to Baroka FC on Saturday.

The Buccaneers coach says they still have a number of trophies to challenge for including the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Nedbank Cup and the Caf Champions League.

“Life is not a bed of roses. We have slipped at this hurdle but there are three more competitions – the Premiership, Nedbank Cup and Caf Champions League,” Sredojevic said to the media.

Reflecting on their season so far, the Serbian mentor believes losing the MTN8 and TKO is now behind them and will focus on their other challenges.

“We also lost the MTN8 on penalties to SuperSport United, now we lose on penalties again, it’s unfortunate. But it’s not about how hard you are hit, but about how strong you are to stand up and move on,” he added.

In addition, the coach will motivate his troops to look forward to the the clash against Free State Stars as they hope to secure a win ahead of the weekend's continental clash.

“We have a chance on Tuesday against Stars in the league. It is a chance that will prepare us for the Champions League on Friday against African Stars,” he continued.

“We need to pick up the pieces. Regretfully football didn’t pay us back, but I strongly believe our supporters will recognise the effort under the circumstances,” concluded the coach.
