Olympics coach Attram satisfied with Wafa stalemate

Great Olympics coach Godwin Attram is 'happy' with his team's performance despite sharing the spoils goalless with Wafa on matchday five of Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Wonder Club came into the game on the back of three defeats and a draw and failed to break down a resilient Wafa defence.

Attram was forced to enter the field as a player-coach when he substituted David Amuzu and played the last 20 minutes of the game.

“Last Thursday we were crying. We couldn’t go home and if today God has blessed us with one point, I think I will have to thank him,” Attram said.

“I think my tactics worked perfectly and the boys did very well against Wafa who have been excellent this season.

“Wafa came for a draw and they had it and it's part of the game. In football, we have win, draw and defeat and if today we have a draw then I think it’s a fair result for Great Olympics.

“We could have lost the game because they got a glorious chance in the last minute but thanks to God that they missed it,” he added.

Olympics will have another opportunity to pick their first win of the campaign when they take on city rivals Hearts of Oak in the Accra derby at the Accra Sports Stadium next weekend.
