Nigeria’s Jay-Jay Okocha will join Ukraine’s Andriy Shevchenko, Italy’s Roberto Di Matteo and England’s duo of Alex Scott and Peter Shilton to reveal the top finalists for this year’s The Best FIFA Football Awards.
The former footballers will announce the top three finalists for each of the main individual awards and the shortlist of 10 candidates for the Puskas Award on September 22 at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London.
The unveiling of the top finalists on Friday precedes this year's awards ceremony that will take place on October 23, 2017 at the same venue.
“On Friday 22 September, the next step along the road towards The Best FIFA Football Awards will be taken, as the world discovers the final nominees for the majority of award categories,” a statement read on Fifa website.
“The excitement will reach a fervour at an event at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London, the city that will host The Best awards ceremony itself on 23 October.
“From 2.00pm local time, FIFA Legends Roberto Di Matteo (ITA), Jay Jay Okocha (NGA), Alex Scott (ENG), Andriy Shevchenko (UKR) and Peter Shilton (ENG) will help to reveal the final trios of candidates for the following awards - The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, The Best FIFA Goalkeeper, The FIFA Fan Award.
“The much-anticipated ten-goal shortlist for the FIFA Puskás Award will also be revealed, with voting open to FIFA.com users from around the world immediately after the announcement.”
