Sunday Aklechi says no Nigerian topflight side is capable of disrupting their ambitions to claim the league diadem following Thursday'st disappointing 2-1 loss to Plateau United.
Aklechi netted the opener in the 27th minute to put the Pride of Benue on the brink of securing their third away win this season against the Peace Boys at the New Jos Stadium in Jos.
However, the visitors squandered their goal lead to bow at the death to the reigning champions no thanks to Reuben Bala's brace from the spot in both halves of the encounter.
Despite the defeat, the midfielder feels his side were unfortunate to see defeat in Jos, but insists they are not bothered by threats from their closest rivals in the quest for the league crown.
"Our performance against Plateau United was awesome," Akleche told Goal.
"With what we played in Jos, I don't think we deserve nothing less than a win but unfortunately it didn't go our way.
"It was not a good result but we have to take it because there's nothing we can do about it. We will go back and concentrate on winning our next games.
"But we are not threatened by any team so far in the title race because I know that we are up to the task. No [Nigerian] team can stop us from winning the title.
"We will be prepared for our next game against Enugu Rangers because it's a must-win for us."
He further expressed joyed over his goal despite their defeat as he is confident that his side will secure more away wins in their subsequent games this season.
"I scored and I am very excited about it. I am not worried about the loss because we were awesome against Plateau.
"I believe that with the good instructions we are getting from our coach and determination within us, we will win many away games."
