The Tshwane giants will, however, have their sights firmly placed on their massive Caf Super Cup encounter against DR Congo side TP Mazembe.
The Brazilians head coach Pitso Mosimane has stated that the game against Pirates will be used as preparation for the Mazembe match.
“I am using the Pirates game to get ready for the Super Cup,” Mosimane told SunSport.
“Celtic created chances but our greater experience saw us clinch the three points. I will be happy with the same result against Pirates.
The coach has also expressed that the Pirates game will be a good test for the Chloorkop-based club.
“Pirates are a difficult side to play. They always give us a tough time at Loftus. This will be ideal preparation for the Super Cup,” Mosimane said.
The former Bafana Bafana coach also stated his happiness with his squad depth and with new signing, Algerian Fares Hachi. The fullback was thrown into the deep end against Celtic after the club confirmed his signing the morning before the game.
“Hachi came at the right time with Tebogo Langerman injured and did well,” Mosimane said.
The 52-year-old tactician was also pleased with midfielder Themba Zwane, who came off the bench and scored the decisive goal against Siwelele.
“He scored a great goal, he showed maturity and was our super sub,” Mosimane concluded.
