Mike Mururi has been confirmed as the head coach of Vihiga United.
Mururi, who joined Vihiga as an assistant, takes over from Edward Manoah who has been elevated to the less prestigious but powerful Technical Director.
“We've made slight changes to our technical unit to strengthen our squad and improve competitiveness in the Premier League,” the club said in a statement.
“Edward Manoah will now be the technical director.”
Tom Terra will act as the senior assistant to Mururi with Francis Xavier being redeployed as the team analyst.
Mururi joined Vihiga United from Homeboyz early in June.
The former Kenyan international takes over the team that is just a place above the relegation zone.
Vihiga United have squeezed only 20 points from 21 games played so far that leaves them 15th on the log.
