The Borno Army attacker is optimistic that they will regain the top flight status at the end of the season despite their current position

El Kanemi Warriors’ Michael Ohanu has disclosed that they are doing everything possible to ensure that they escape the relegation zone at the end of the season.

The Borno Army are only a point away from the drop zone despite occupying the 13th spot with 29 points from 24 games but the player is not allowing this to weigh him down ahead of their next week's fixture with Kano Pillars.

He said his team has been preparing very hard since they resumed from the World Cup break and are hoping that the build-up they have had would put them in the right stead to end the season well.

“No one is talking about relegation in our camp because we know that we have what it takes to survive the relegation zone,” Ohanu told Goal.

“It was the reason we resumed on time and have taken all training sessions we have had with all seriousness aware that when we are focused we can achieve our objectives. We the players are positive that we have the players not to only retain our premier league status but also to finish the season in a better position.

“We have 14 games to show that we belong to the premier league category and we shall do everything possible to ensure that. We are going to ensure that we do not drop any point in our remaining seven home matches while we are also working on improving our away results from the remaining matches.

“We know that nothing comes easy but we are targeting a good finish because it won’t augur well for our career if El Kanemi Warriors are unable to keep their place in the premier league. We know what we must do and it is what we are concentrating on from now until the end of the season.”
