It was a good weekend for El Tri players in Europe with several coming into the March friendly matches in strong form

It was a critical weekend for Mexican players in Europe as they played their final matches before joining up with the Mexico national team in Northern California. They'll face Iceland there Friday before heading to Texas to take on Croatia during the last international break before the World Cup.

It was a mostly positive weekend for Mexicans abroad, with a number of players finding the back of the net. Chief among them was Hirving Lozano, who looked thrilled to be back on the playing field after serving a three-match suspension for his second red card of the season against the same team. After a slow start for PSV, Lozano assisted the first goal and scored the second, taking his goal haul this season to 14. That keeps him tied atop the Eredivisie scoring charts with Willem II's Fran Sol.

Hector Herrera also scored this weekend and enters the international break in good form for Porto. He captained the league leaders to a 2-0 win over Boavista and added the second goal of the day. His club and country teammate, Diego Reyes, watched from the bench.

At least he got a seat. Carlos Salcedo and Marco Fabian both missed out on Frankfurt's 3-0 win over Mainz, and after both Miguel Layun and Hector Moreno saw La Liga minutes this weekend to shore up their spots in Spain with Layun scoring in the 90th minute for Sevilla, Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio may be most worried about that duo's lack of playing time headed into the summer.

Guillermo Ochoa's side is preparing for the Belgian playoffs, so the goalkeeper watched from the bench as Standard topped Genk in the Belgian Cup final. Raul Jimenez scored his fourth goal of the season for Benfica.

Mexicans Abroad Minute: The Return of Chucky

Hirving Lozano is back on the field, and he's not the only player from Mexico's National Team who enters the FIFA date in good form! It's the last Mexicans Abroad Minute before the March friendly matches.
