What a performance from the adopted Aussie!

He only touched down in Australia for the first time last week, but Martin Boyle has quickly left his mark for the Socceroos starring in a 3-0 win over Lebanon on Tuesday in Tim Cahill's testimonial.

After salvaging a draw against Korea Republic on Saturday, the Socceroos were determined to strike first in Sydney and did exactly that through Boyle.

The Scottish winger opening the scoring in the 19th minute after his powerful effort was deflected past Lebanon's stranded keeper.

Remaining on the front foot for the entire first-half, Australia would double their lead in the 41st minute with Boyle tapping home his second after a Milos Degenek header hit the crossbar and fell kindly to him.

Following the break, it would be Boyle again that would be at the heart of the Socceroos third goal as his cross in the 69th minute was steered home by Mathew Leckie just moments after he came on as a substitute.

The man of the moment would be brought on in the 82nd minute with Cahill getting a standing ovation as he graced the pitch one final time for Australia.

There would be no fairytale goal for the Socceroos striker however as Australia wrapped up a comfortable 3-0 win with Andrew Nabbout hitting the post in injury-time.
