Kano Pillars’ striker, Junior Lokosa has admonished his teammates to think more about their next league game with Enugu Rangers and not on their home draw with Enyimba last weekend which they do not have control over again.
Sai Masu Gida were held to a 1-1 draw by the People’s Elephant at the Sani Abacha Stadium where Lokosa scored his eighth goal of the season from nine games and the attacker stated shortly after the game that their focus should be on how to make amends in their next game with the Flying Antelopes in Enugu this weekend.
“It is football and we can’t do anything about it. We thought it would be another good day for us but it was not to be. It was the first time we have failed to pick maximum points from our home games and we must go and fight to get it back in Enugu,” Lokosa told Goal.
“The draw was an eye opener for us that we are not invincible after all. Enyimba were not too fantastic on the day but as soon as they got the equalizer by sheer luck, they sat on it and didn’t come out as forceful as they ought to be.
“We can’t continue to dwell on the draw but we must think of how we have to bounce back when we face Rangers this weekend,” he disclosed.
Lokosa who netted his eighth goal of the campaign hinted that another home win would have been the ideal way to celebrate his latest strike but the home draw made it low keyed.
“I will take the three points over my goal. I am happy to score again but I was let sad by the goal’s inability to seal the three points for us.
“We will continue to push harder to ensure that we remain strong and hard to beat in subsequent matches.”
