The Reds can return to the top of the table - briefly at least - as they face the Premier League's bottom club at Anfield

Beaten in Belgrade, Liverpool will be looking to bounce back on home soil this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds can return to the top of the Premier League table - if only for a couple of hours - by beating Fulham at Anfield on Sunday.

The Londoners arrive in a precarious position, bottom of the standings having won just one of their 11 games since promotion to the top flight. Slavisa Jokanovic, their manager, is the strong favourite to be the first Premier League manager to lose his job.

The Reds have been imperious at Anfield in the league, without a defeat there since May 2017, and they will be expected to put the misery of their Champions League loss to Red Star firmly behind them.

Liverpool Injuries

It appears as if Klopp has an almost full-strength squad to choose from for this one.

Joe Gomez will be fit despite an Achilles worry, while midfielders Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are in contention to play.

Dejan Lovren missed out in midweek due to illness but should be OK to feature at the weekend.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster are on the long-term injured list.

Likely Liverpool Starting Line-Up

There is plenty for Klopp to ponder after a disappointing performance in Belgrade.

His midfield, in particular, looked powderpuff against Red Star and we can expect a shake up in that department. Henderson, Keita and Fabinho will all be pushing for starts, as will Xherdan Shaqiri.

Gomez should return to the starting line-up, probably alongside Virgil van Dijk at centre-back though Klopp could use Lovren there.

Up front we can expect Roberto Firmino to replace Daniel Sturridge.

The Cottagers could be without left-back Joe Bryan, who has a hamstring issue, while midfielder Kevin McDonald suffered a knock in the 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield last time out.

Teenage star Ryan Sessegnon, once courted by Liverpool, should feature for Jokanovic's side, as should another player linked with Anfield in Jean-Michael Seri.
