Gor Mahia have released midfielder Collins ‘Gattuso’ Okoth, Goal can reveal.
K’Ogalo CEO Omondi Aduda has revealed to Goal that the contract for the combative midfielder has ended and hence the club will not renew the same. “We have released Collins Okoth. His contract with the club has ended and the club is not keen to renew it. We want to wish him all the best on his next move.”
Aduda also confirmed that the club is in the process of extending the stay of Francis Kahata. “We are still negotiating and the talks look positive. Kahata will be part of this team for another season or two and that is why we have engaged him to talks.”
On Wednesday, the former champions confirmed that they had loaned out midfielder Teddy Osok to National Super League side KCB. "We have loaned out Teddy (Osok) because we believe that the youngster needs playing time to build himself. It has proved difficult for him to break into the first team hence the decision to loan him out."
Gor Mahia are leading the league table and will resume action on Sunday when they take on Sofapaka at Kinoru Stadium in Meru.
